Angry Denied Service Because My RV Is Older Than 2010

Hi! Want to see if anyone else has been denied 'after warranty' service because their Sprinter was older than 2010 or Dodge Branded. I have a 2010 Fleetwood Pulse 24D with 75000 miles on it. I was told by Mercedes Benz of Mobile that they had made a corporate decision not to provide service to any Sprinter older than 2010 or any Dodge Branded vehicle (which is a Mercedes chassis and drivetrain). Pretty disappointed that I will have to drive to another city that has a Mercedes Benz service department.

Pretty sure I won't be replacing my RV with anything that has Mercedes on it....
Sure can't understand Mercedes of Mobile thought process. Money is money. No warranty involved.

Corporate decision
Have you checked with that other Mercedes-Benz Service Dept that THEY will service your 10 yr old rig??

Tell Mercedes corporate. "company decision" my rear end, this was a decision by this one stealership that didn't want to deal with what they see as unworthy vehicles.

That doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling toward buying an MB-powered RV.

I suspect that dealership saved you some money.

Now, find a local mechanic who will work on MB vehicles and build a relationship.

His rates and parts prices may be lower.

Panhandle Diesel Performance just off of I-10 Exit 120 in Wausau can work on it and I can tell you Chris knows what he is doing.

Let me know and I'll get you his info and fill him in.

I would definitely write a letter to Mercedes-benz USA and direct it to the office of the CEO, explaining how disappointed you were with this decision and how it reflects poorly on the Mercedes Brand and your decision making going forward with regard to ever buying another.

This will trigger Customer Satisfaction issues all the way up the chain and these days a dealers overall compensation is based very heavily on Customer Satisfaction.

it is obvious that the vehicles in question which came from the entity now owned by Fiat-Chrysler are difficult for this dealer to service because they have to do some extra work and just don't want to, but MBZ USA made a very clear agreement to allow dealers to continue servicing these models and most importantly for MBZ USA to protect their reputation and Brand......THIS is why writing a letter would be beneficial to you and other similar owners

The Mercedes Benz of Mobile dealership could be incorporated so the 10 year rule doesn't necessarily mean it came from Mercedes.

That's what I was thinking. My nearest MB dealership operates that way. It's a separate LLC unto itself.

Thanks! I just moved from North of Panama City. Perfect timing, huh? I will keep that in mind as I frequently go to Panama City where my boat is.
