Drivetrain problem?
We are new to RVing and have an Entegra Qwest 24L Class C, 2018. We are 3rd owners so no warranty. Everything has worked perfectly until September when we started having a vibration in the steering wheel which finally extended all the way through the RV. Mercedes attempted to balance tires, but only made the vibration worse. Took it to a commercial truck, bus,RV tire center. They had it 2 weeks and could not fix it. Recommended new tires (we had Continental tires with less that 10,000 miles). Replaced with same size Michelin tires. No difference. Suggestion was made to have the drivetrain checked. Has anyone had this problem. We can’t drive the RV for any distance. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Did you run your own car fax on it before buying ? If now run one, here is why.. car fax should give you idea where rv has been and if in major accident.. no it's not always 100%. But a place to start.. then you are kinda on your own..
SO go online grab a basic automotive suspension repair book.. for trucks.. of your make.. usually the basic book covers all types and makes.. you then got to do your own investigation..
It sounds like no ones going to tell you the truth.. maybe because they don't want to offend you..
Then start from front to rear.. testing everything.. yes sounds basic enough.. but when you are paying shop 150 to 250 per hr.. you see why a shop just does not take the time.. you can at a shop start getting into $$$$ .. so because they still might not find the problem and you would not be happy..
Another approach is to give shop a check for 5,000.00 and ask them to look until all is spent... even if they can't find one..
Sorry but that is where you are.. hopefully some members here can get you pointed in right direction..
Good luck and let us know what you did and maybe better members then me will help you

Go to a Mercedes SPRINTER dealer and get a four wheel alignment. If that doesn’t fix it you have a drive train problem. Again, a Sprinter (not just any Mercedes dealer) should be able to fix the problem.

Is it a low frequency vibration, like from the wheels and tires (about 700 rpm at 60 mph), or is it much higher, like from the driveshaft (about 2800 rpm at 60 mph)?

I've had u-joints go bad that were first felt through the steering wheel, simply because that was where my body connected to the chassis. As they got worse, the vibrations strengthened and were felt generally all over.

Does it happen at certain speeds, in different gears? What about if you're coasting and you shift into neutral? That may determine if it's a drivetrain issue. Also, have you had your suspension looked over?
No doubt you've spent a small fortune already on tires and balancing, you can do some DYI troubleshooting without spending any money.
Good luck and let us know what you find out.

My first guess would be a driveshaft issue, u-joints/CV joints or center support bearing/bushing depending on the drive configuration. My only other suggestion is to look for worn door latches. I once had an Astro van that had a worn latching post on the rear door. I didn't get an shaking until I hit rough road at 60 mph or more. It wouldn't vibrate if I was on smooth road but as soon as I hit a rough stretch of road at over 60 mph it would vibrate until I slowed down to less than 60 mph. I chased that vibration for a year or more. I might also put the rig up on jackstands and run the driveline and see if you can see anything that looks like it is shaking. Vibrations can be very, very tough to find. Good luck.
