Sort of bad luck if you step on a crack on the sidewalk. Any thoughts or actual experiences with bad fuel?
As I said initially, your symptoms sound like bad fuel. ALL, and I repeat ALL, tanks have very nasty stuff in them almost 100% of the time. There are very lucrative companies that use centrifuges to clean diesel tanks .... this is a regular service and happens all the time everywhere (UPS truck sized rig). Even on a high volume station, when the tank gets close to the bottom, or during a refill by a supplier (and for about 20 mins later) the nasty stuff is getting picked up by the suction tube.

Running a 10 micron fuel filter is a great way to "see more bad fuel" than running 20 micron filters. You people who think you can avoid bad fuel are absolutely kidding yourself. Carry extra filters, know how to change them on the side of the road and drive through it. If you want to be "high tech" put fuel pressure sensors on both side of the fuel filter system and know what the differential is on clean filters.
