Looking at New Sprinter Synergy

I was hoping to get some feedback on a new 2018-2019 Synergy.
I thought I wanted a 34 ft Palazzo DP but the more I thought about it the less I wanted something that size. Mainly used for short 2-5 day trips in State (Texas) as our favorite spot is Big Bend region about a 500-mile one-way trip. We would leave late Thursday afternoon and drive straight through and return on Monday

I have looked at several and started one up, just to see how noisy it was, thus one of the reasons of DP. The engine was really quite but turn dash ac on, generator on and cabin ac full blast and it was noisy. This was a used unit so maybe that was the reason. Is that an issue for you guys?

Did not drive it so not sure about ride quality, but I am sure there are ways to improve it?

Here is what I want, I know this puts me in the 100k range for a new one.
Twin bed convert to king
Diesel generator
Summit package
FBP
recliners

Will probably pull a motorcycle trailer, so it would give me optional storage as well for bicycles, grill, water, extra fuel, yeti cooler for ice, and yes my espresso machine, about 3k lbs

Tell me I am crazy this would work.
Thanks, Bill

Not familiar with the Synergy. Maybe ask over at the Thor Owners Forum about the coach features you desire?

The 3.0L V6 turbo diesel engine is quieter than the gas doghouse combos, without the doghouse. Yes, the roof A/C and the Onan 3200W diesel genset are noisy, and the generator is rear mounted in my Navion, so it's not something we would use while trying to sleep.

As far as towing 3,000lbs, most Sprinter 3500 based motorhomes have a 5,000lb rated hitch and can pull it fairly easily. I've pulled a 4 door JKU Wrangler (around 4200lbs) with ours and our fuel economy dropped from 15.5 mpg to around 12.75 mpg. It handles towing fine.

Not a fan of Thor but I think the Sprinter based Class C units are pretty good for weekend travel. Be sure you take one out for a test drive - they actually drive quite well and fuel economy is great. You can tow up to 4200 lbs so your 3000 lb trailer shouldn't be a problem especially thanks to Curt Manufacturing which has come up with a brake controller that works with the Sprinter chassis (it plugs into your 7 pin trailer connector and is controlled by your smartphone).

I own a THOR Citation with the Summit package. Very similar to what youíre looking at. No problem on what you want to do. On a side note I owned a Palazzo for about a year. It was my first venture into a Class A. I grew to hate it the more I drove it. (May get flamed for that one) Some people love them. Knowing what I know today I would still pick the Sprinter based chassis hands down.

You can pull over 4200 lbs if you want, as long as the combined weight of the tow vehicle and towed vehicle don't exceed the Sprinter 3500 chassis GCWR of 15250 lbs, and you don't exceed the 5,000 lb hitch weight limit. Our JKU fluctuates between 4200 and 4500 lbs, but we just lose some weight inside the Navion to compensate, if the Wrangler is loaded a bit heavier. Sometimes I carry spare fuel for both vehicles in the Wrangler, or general supplies, which pushes it's weight up a bit.
