It would help if you can post make, model of generator. Then someone can chime in with actual experience!

Thought, did you recently shut off your propane? Perhaps when it was refilled? Does you gas stove or start and stay running? Sometimes, especially after being shut for, air gets into the lines, and you can experience the problem you are describing.

I had an Onan LP generator in a previous Safari TREK. Occasionally, it would take a fit and and usually not even start. I finally found that a new spark plug solved the problem. It had to be NEW, cleaning / gapping didn't help and I began carrying spare, new, spark plugs.

Yes. Check the spark, ignition first. It is a gas engine converted to propane so the ignition side is the same as a gas genny. Then verify if propane, fuel, is getting to the engine. If you have both it should run.

Sometimes a carbon track forms on the plug insulator and allows the voltage to "drain" away. Even cleaning doesn't help sometimes. Not real common on a propane unit but still could happen

Second on the bad LP regulator. And ours, when taken apart, was full of oil from bad LP gas. Had to clean out the whole mess and start with a new regulator, no problem since.

Ditto!

Just replaced LP regulator ..... AGAIN!!! .....this week. Second one in 5 months. Oil contamination.

Light the gas range. Start the generator. If the range goes out.... It's the regulator.
