Just wish I could find a good carrier for my KLR 650. It's too porky at 400 pounds for one of those hitch mount carriers.
Happy Glamping.

We just finished a 5300 mine trip with a Yamaha r3 (320# sport bike) attached to the back of our class a. No issues with the cheap ($90 ebay) steel carrier we used. It came with an anti-rattle collar that worked great and I stopped checking it in the rear camera after 600 miles of rough roads with no movement of the bike or carrier. I went with the cheap carrier since insurance would cover replacement of bike if it fell off.

I used a Joe Hauler for a 250 cc dual sport. Later I modified it to carry 2 Honda Ruckus 100 cc. The anti rock shim on the Joe Hauler is superb. I'd get another anytime!
Have fun.

JoeHauler is the one. I also had a muffler shop weld on 2 lateral supports to prevent movement--possibly overkill for a Vespa 250(320#) but it is very secure. Don't waste money on one you assemble--get welded!

Definitely get the anti-rattle collar

Last four posts are so - the original poster was asking about a motorcycle carrier on a Sprinter chassis. You are way off topic as this is not about scooter carriers or chassis other than a Sprinter.

?? How is any thing here "off topic"?

WR250R, KLR250, Yamaha R3, 250cc dual sport... None are "scooters". OP is asking about a hitch mount carrier for a dual sport; MH chassis is irrelevant; is the hitch somehow different on the Sprinter? And what's the relevant difference between a motorcycle and a scooter anyway?
