Rear wheel speed sensors are here!

I received notification in the mail today that (finally) the new rear wheel speed sensors are available to be installed per the recall. Oh boy, I get to take my Navion to the dealer again. First there was the driver side airbag, then later the passenger side airbag, then the emission system recall and now the speed sensors. In my 40 years of driving and owner numerous vehicles I've never had so many recalls on one vehicle. If anyone asked me if they should own a Mercedes based motorhome, I'd tell them NO!!!

My 2019 is going in next month for three recall related items. Two of them are software related and one is for the brake light.

None are safety concerns and to be honest, I like the fact the Mercedes cares enough to fix the smallest items that they find are not normal behavior in their line of vehicles.

Both of my Fords and a Honda fell into the airbag recall debacle. We had to drive those for many months before the parts became available. Talk about a safety concern!

Yeah, it's a pain and I'm certainly with you as far as the shear number of recalls these vans have had. Overall though, I wouldn't trade mine in for any other as the overall fit, finish, and ride quality won't be found anywhere else at this price point.

Good luck with your recalls!

Agreed. Everyone got caught with the Takata airbags recall, not just MB.
Also agree that the overall experience with the Navion on the MB Sprinter chassis has been the best combination we've owned, of our three.

My notice regarding the rear wheel sensors on my Winnebago Era arrived a couple of days ago. Have scheduled the work at the local Freightliner dealership next month.

Wheel Sensors

Had mine done this week. It was in for a safety inspection when the parts became available. Ready to roll

Mine is due for it's annual State inspection in October, so it's a convenient time to get it done.

The recall notice mentioned that certain vehicles that were up-fitted into camper vans or RVs were affected. Makes me wonder what about the up-fit process would cause this.

2 months ago I had to be towed to a Sprinter dealer in Weston Ct because my Wheel Cylinder failed. I had to pay for the repair because the recall parts were not available yet. I am having the recall parts replaced next Tuesday and I am told I will get a refund for. the emergency repair.

I'm trying to get on the schedule for mine, but I'm still working out whether or not to have them address the aggressive front tire wear that started after they did an alignment.

Did MB San Diego do your alignment?

Oh, sorry. M-B Rochester, NY. I didn’t realize until I reread my post that it sounded like I was talking about San Diego.

Getting mine done today at the dealership here in Georgetown, Texas. I was told it should take about 1-1/2 hours to complete. Hopefully the last recall for a while. Been here so many times they know me on a first name bases as soon as I walk in.

Luckily mine gave up the ghost on a trip not too far from home, well only 300 miles. Just scheduled a trip to the dealer to get the speed sensors, the class action settlement AEM done, and a fresh fuel filter.

We stopped by the local MB service desk and asked about the wheel sensors. Apparently, they had not sent out any notices regarding parts being available. Glad we asked.
