Try putting a little silicone grease on the gasket. Most of the torque required is to overcome the friction between the gasket and fitting. just make sure it is rubber friendly.

I am seriously opposed to the Sewer Solution but check back with me on WED.. I do not have a problem with the sewer hose (And I will tell you why now) but the travel cap is a witch. I HAVE A THEORY (A McGuiver) that may work and I will check it out Tuesday. actually use it in 2 weeks but check it out Tues because that is the next time I visit that bay.

The solution 1,2 and 3

1: Tetford has a new hose called the TITAN, it has a LONG neck on the female end, makes it way easier to attach and detach.. Check it out

2: I use a 5" extension. Sometimes to a 45 degree elbow but with the Tetford Sentenal (no longer made) hose (Same hose as Titan but different end) I use a 5" back flush device. Now the water inlet broke off years back and I just sealed the port.. Man is that easy to get on and off due to the "Valve housing" remaining.. Bit tricky getting it in and out of the hole in teh bottom of the bay but easy to attach and detach.

3: That's the McGuiver trick I've yet to test.. An Oil Filter wrench the kind with the slip joint that works like a pair of pliars. not the kind I use changin g oil (I use the cup type changing oil) It looks like it will fit but as I saidk have yet to try. Just came up with that recently and found the wrench last week.

wa8yzm, thanks, but again, I have to ask, what hole in the bottom of the bay. Are you talking about a Winnebago Era? I do not have a hole in the bottom of the utility bay. (2015 model)
I wonder why you have "serious opposition" to the Sewer Solution?
