Sprinter ESP Recall Letter

Just received a recall notice from MB for the MY 2012 - 2018 Sprinter Van ESP rear-wheel speed sensors. Apparently, MB will install new sensors with improved robustness to moisture intrusion.

They did state that the replacement parts are not currently available.

Thought you would like to know.

ESP sensors

Oh, and we just got back from a cross country trip and experienced three dash warnings about our ESP. Seems strong cross winds on rough road surfaces lift the tire enough to trigger the spin warning. Just need to pull over and turn off the engine. Let it sit for a few minutes and restart. It appears to reset the problem.

It's frustrating to receive recall notice information only to be told there are no parts available yet. My Honda vehicle has a recall for a possible failure of the fuel pump, but yep, no parts available yet. So I can drive hoping the pump doesn't fail at the most inoppurtune time.
