Angry Sprinter floor softening

2014 coach 24SA by THOR (Citation) with soft spots enlarging in flooring. Just met a man with same model/year who is having the same problem. I suspect the floor needs to be replaced. Anyone else have this happen?

It's probably a problem with water getting into the flooring Thor put in the Sprinter body. If the floor is oriented strand board (OSB) or not marine plywood, any moisture will destroy it. It might require removing all cabinets and furniture to replace the whole floor.

I have the same issue with my 2016 Citation. However, I haven't noticed it getting any bigger.

I have a few soft spots in my Winn. 2016 View. Going to factory for them to make it right.

There are no signs of water intrusion, hopefully it needs a few shims under the floor to the frame.

When I saw motorhomes other than Forester River on the road. I thought how lucky you'll to own them. After I read all your posts here and many others. I've concluded it doesn't matter what we buy. They are build by American Rv industries. I am not going to finish my sentences.

All RVs leak. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it is not happening. Windows, vents, seams and many more spots are possible water intrusion sites. AND: water travels quite a bit, so the damage could be in one place, and the leak in another. There is sooo much good info on this site about RVs. You can find your answers in the forums.

I suspect our floors are vacubond aluminum tubing and foam between sheet aluminum with the linoleum glued on top.If so, you won't get the same delamination as plywood...
Perhaps the foam core in that spot is loose and the aluminum underskin is not holding it up.My 24sa has the rotocast compartment in that area.Maybe check underneath to see if you can support the floor somehow?

Just got my 2016 Winnebago View 24J back from the factory yesterday. They repaired the soft floor by adding more welded cross braces to the frame and then lifting the linoleum floor and screwing the floor to the braces where needed. The problem was not a leak... seems that sometimes the floor separates at the seams of the flooring itself, the original problem may be a poor glue job when the floor was first put together although that wasn't confirmed. The floor is comprised of layering aluminum, thin plywood, foam core, thicker plywood and then the floor covering. These are fabricated from 4x8 sheets I believe.

They had the slide off of the RV to do the floor and upon inspection they found the reason for noisy operation and replaced the entire mechanism, they also tested the LP tank since they had to remove that also. The rear wheels and spare were also removed for repair.

Those repairs and a few others took a full week in the shop. Glad it was all under warranty! Great job Winnebago factory service.

I also want to mention that Lichtsinn, the dealer I purchased the coach from originally went above and beyond in helping me out while I was in town even with the repairs being done at the factory!

The super 8 in town is about the only place to stay. The place is dated but clean. The people there are friendly like everyone else I have met in Forest City, IA. It will be nice to see the facility after they finish the upgrades they are starting this coming week.
