Sprinter transmission service quote $750

My dealer is quoting me $750 for 30k miles transmission service.

I have a 2015 sprinter 3500.

Is that standard price for transmission service?

I like to know if i am getting the shaft :-]

What service?

What does the owners manual say? (We figure the engineers know better than wrench turners.)

Transmission "service" can be a big money maker for dealers.

Most modern transmissions will go the life of the vehicle with only filter changes for some. No "flush".

Start reading your owner's manual. Sounds like your dealer has a cash flow problem and needs to increase is revenue.

Check your owners manual but I think it says to do transmission service every fourth oil change. At 15,000 mile oil changes, that would be 60,000 mile for transmission service not 30,000 miles.

My 2015 Maintenance booklet Service A is 20,000 and Service B at 40,000 miles
"As part of 1st Service B, (40,000 miles) and subsequently every 80,000 miles -- Automatic Transmission oil and filter change.

I have a 2016 Siesta on a 2015 Sprinter chassis.

It is 40k for mine. I was thinking to do it before the 36k mikes warranty expires.

Ahhh- There may be a method to your madness after all.. Were they to find something amiss with the tranny it would be covered. I'm just over 30k, .....

I changed at 40.000 miles. Allison 3000 with filters and fluids was $380 at an Allison shop.

I had the trans service and "B" service done at 40,000 miles by Mercedes dealer here in Texas. The trans service was $399.95.

As my MB dealer pointed out, the Mercedes Service sheet for Sprinter, lists Service B (+-$450) at 40,000 miles and a note that Transmission service (not part of service B) is done at 40,000 or two years and then every 60,000 miles or 3 years. (service is drain, replace filter, seals, gasket and clean pan and refill +-$600)
I also have found a large disparity in prices between Mercedes shops for both service and parts.

I have a 2016 View and MB quoted $700 for a tranny service at 40K miles.

I have it scheduled with a local diesel repair place for $450, includes flush, filter and computer update.

My local (NY) MB quoted me $650 and MB in south TX where I head to in 6 weeks quoted me $470. I'll probably have the work done in TX but I'm just wondering is there anything special that a local transmission place can't do?

I have mine serviced in Boerne, TX at the MB dealer and so far they have been less than other numbers I have seen quoted. I don’t know what So TX dealer you contacted.
