Title Issue

I just purchased a new 2023 class B on a Mercedes chassis. I received the new title today, and it is showing it as a 2022. Dealer claims it is because the chassis was built in 2022. Is this correct?

That's how it works.

The chassis is bought and stored until build date by the RV builder.

Yep, the MH manufacturers have already been building 2024 MH's using parts from 2022 and 2024. Those parts might be a chassis.

So think this through. You could buy a 2024 in 2023 that was built in 2023 with a 2022 chassis.

My last coach was a Dutch Star on a 2017 spartan chassis. Newmar body was a 2018 and the title shows it being a 2018.

I think different states may handle this differently. I recently titled my 2023 Winnebago ERA (2022 Sprinter), and the title shows it as a 2023 Winnebago. I provided DMV with the documentation for both the sprinter and the Winnebago.

Mine is a 22 model year RV on a 21 Sprinter chassis. It’s titled as a 2022 in NC.

My 2021 was built on a 2020 chassis. Wisconsin title says 2021. Hard to believe anyone would accept a title that is one year older than the model you paid for.

DMV go by the Chassis number and MB has that 2022.
Dealers sell by the house build, your case 2023.
