Cool UltraGauge OBS II

Has anyone installed this scanner. I'm interested in the size of the access to the OBD plug-in location for a 2012 Winnebago VIEW 24M. Not much room, if you want to put the cover back. The OBD location I found is inside a cover just above the hood release lever. Could there be another plug-in hidden in the engine compartment. I want to be able to get the system codes and monitor temps etc. had a "engine check" light come on, with no apparent effect on performance. It went out after an overnite shutdown and 70 miles. Heading to a "rare" Sprinter repair station tomorrow, in hope of finding any issues before heading down the Alaska hwy to the lower 48.

Usually only the one OBD II connector, on any vehicle , within 18" of the steering column on the dash .

Some DP's will have a second diagnostic connector, ( different than a OBD II ) in the engine bay at the rear of the coach , so the mechanic can be at the motor with the read out in hand.

I have been using an UG on my MBS for the past couple of years. Love it. Gives me a lot more infor vs the basics on my MBS version. Some people do have the better MBS gauge package.Mine does not. The port is just above the release on the lower left. I had to set the fuel ecoomy up on the UG using the direction sthey give. Other than that it works perfectly. I have not had to do any trouble code investigations

Red face Update

After further detailed investigation I found a OBSII SHORT FLAT EXTENSION CABLE, ( OBD-II 16Pin Male to Female Low Profile Extension Cable Diagnostic Extender 30cm)
This should allow the fuse access door to close. Since we're leaving tomorrow for AZ from Fairbanks ordering the parts and scanner will have to wait, darn.

I just added a Scan Gauge on my Winnebago Era on a 2014 Sprinter van chassis. Mounted the unit under the ignition switch with Velcro and ran the power cord over the steering column under the dash to the OBD port over the fuse box. I simply cut the top of the plastic cover away to accommodate the cord on it's route, closes nicely.
