When you talk about a B being or not being a van conversion.

I think the designator has more to do with the cockpit area or rather the "Cab" than anything else.

A class A is all motor home nose to tail.

A B has the cab of a van, but the body can be much modified and no reason it can't be 30-40 foot long in my book.

A "C" is normally shorter but based on the "Cutaway cab" with a overhead bunk. Again I see no reason they can't be longer, but it's the bunk that makes it a "C"

The pictures of my '91 Airstream 190 B Van are on a flash drive somewhere but this google pic is what it looked like.

An E350 / 460 EFi "ambulance package" with a definite cab over bed and jackknife sofa. It slept 2 adults and a child thru teen just fine. The trend is away from the cab over but this and Bowsers Falcon were both similarly equipped for sleeping.

The C's are still basically a van but as noted they were and are cut sways. Super B's are still more similar to a C to my thinking but I've been away from the B / C market for a while now.

I haven't researched Bs enough to know if there are stretch chassis in the longer ones or if they overhang. They have come a long way from the early B van days but the cab over was a really nice feature. I'm not sure why they have let that go but maybe related to gas prices and demand.

The Sprinters look very nice and I could envision moving that direction when the A became more than we need or fully enjoy. Again, they all have their purpose. Ours let us do things we could never do now at a time in our lives when we could really enjoy it.

One other up side of a class B is it can be used as a daily driver or second vehicle which saves on insurance and expensive storage issues
