2013 Palazzo 36.1 Bolting to Roof

I’m installing solar and looking to know how long of a screw I can use to bolt it down and where the best spot to run the cable to the battery bay is. Anyone done something similar to theirs?

Best, Adam.

With my back and knees I decided to have my independent RV repair facility do it. You can find solar panel RV roof mounting kits with hardware on Amazon. Around $25 to $40 depending on how many panels you want to mount.

Thanks. I’ve got the hardware and it’s ready to be mounted. The kit came with 1 1/2” screws, just trying to be sure that’s ok to use (long enough to hold them down, short enough not to damage the ceiling).

Managed to mount the panels. Used clear caulking under and around the brackets and will cover with Eternabond tape.

Still need to figure out how to run the cable from the roof to the basement. Has anyone done that yet?

Best, Adam.

On my 2014 33.2 the installer took the wiring down from the plumbing vent opening near the bathroom sink. Cable then was run to the battery compartment where the solar charge controller is located. It looks like you have a plumbing vent just aft of the last panel.

You’re absolutely right, there is a vent there. I assumed it went to my rear black tank and didn’t want to drop cables in there, haha. I bought fish tape on Amazon that arrives Tuesday so I’ll do some poking around once that comes.

Definitely good to hear that’s a method that’s used because it’s what I had hoped I could do if I didn’t get any responses. Thanks!

Glad to help a bit, and good luck with the rest of the install.
