Jensen JRV212T Radio/Monitor power
Jensen JRV212T
Yesterday I decided to go get diesel at $3.39/gal before prices go up. Fortunately everything in the Palazzo worked perfectly. When I got home I connected shore power but turned off the Use switch.
This morning I went out and turned on the Use switch to run the exhaust fan and I noticed the time display was not showing on the Jensen radio/monitor. My first thought was a power problem so I quickly checked and determined that both 12 VDC and 120 VAC were available. I then checked the 12 V power outlets next to the radio and they had power. I also tried the power switch and camera control on the unit with no response.
So I picked up the bag of manuals and went back in the house to see if I could find where the fuse or circuit breaker is located that powers the Jensen and if there is an internal fuse in the Jensen.
The manuals were no help and nothing in the Jensen manual about an internal fuse. So after breakfast I went back out to take another look and decide whether it was worth pulling the radio to check for power or whether to put the slide out so I could access the fuse panel.
I was startled to see the time display was on. So I pressed the power switch and the radio came on normally. Then I tried the camera functions and they worked.
Last time I checked the time display is still on. The only thing I can account for this behavior is that there is an internal batter in the Jensen that needed to get charged up after I turned on the Use switch. But this had never happened before.
Any other great ideas, especially how I can avoid this?
