When all of the palazzo owners purchased their motor coaches did anyone purchase the warranty (5) year and if so did they purchase a he wrap or lesser one and any thoughts on warranties in general. This requires a significant amount of dollars spent so I want to know if everyone thinks it is needed.

I did a three year good Sam, but when I went back to extend it, they wanted over $2,000 per year. I elect to have Matt at Freightliner do complete chassis service once a year. I give him the list I got at camp Freightliner. I am a happy traveler. Notice I did not say happy camper. There is a difference.

I purchased a 84 month extended warranty based on the feedback I received here on iRV2. I know my day is coming so I want to be somewhat covered. As I have read in other posts, it really all depends on your perception of risk, a lot like an insurance policy. I also couple that with ability. I'm good with handling household repairs, but my coach has so much technical stuff that I have little to no experience with, so I choose to do what I can and leave the rest up to qualified technicians, provided that they don't work at Camping World, (just my opinion).....Besides, my Cummings engine is quite concealed. All I can see is the radiator when I check fluid levels during my pre-trip inspection. I speculate that is by design so I'm forced to take it to a shop. I agree with Yellville.....you'll learn a lot here. Happy Trails!

Congratulations on your new rig Mike. Will you be going to the Western Rally in Paso Robles? April 10-14?

Mike: great to see another Marine on the forum! Hand to cover, John

Dates of service: 1995 to present

Thor info: 2014, 36.1

Just came back from six weeks of TLC at the local Cummins/Freightliner dealership.

-new ecm
-new ignition switch
-and some work done on fuel system
-recalibration of speedometer

All under warranty thankfully.

Sadly no RV dealership in my area will repair our rig since we didn't purchase it with them.
