We were driving home from Myrtle Beach yesterday and passed by a dealership in VA that had a bunch of Palazzo's on the front lot. All of the coaches had their slides out, but none had their jacks down. Interestingly enough, this is a dealer who has had to service slide issues in the past. I know this because it was mentioned here on this forum. You would think they'd have learned by now, especially since Thor had to send out a technician to their dealership.

I think many slide problems start with careless dealers and service personnel. When we went to pick up our Palazzo here in MD, the slides were out. When I walked into the coach, I mentioned needing to have the jacks down. I was quickly corrected by the PDI guy who said, 'The ground here is level, it's not a problem. We always open our slides without jacks.' Of course, this was the same guy who told me the silver lever that airs up the suspension was '...for service use only.' Go figure.

How do I know where to find the components mentioned here? I have no idea where to look on my slide to make sure my parts are in order. I have a 36.1 with a full wall slide. I'm really in trouble if I don't check for these kinds of problems.

Would anyone be willing to take some photos and identify these parts so someone like me knows what to look for? It's a tall order, I know. But it would be a HUGE help.

same here Gingerela... Our slides were out to a very unlevel ground, no jacks down. It was never the same even after they fixed it... Thor took care of me at Elkhart. I believe dealers dont really care... Thor pays the dealers to fix their purposeful mistakes....

When I purchased my previous class A the salesman told us during the process that he was new and he was a waiter at O'Charlie's up the street two weeks before. Needless to say, we knew more about the RV and it's systems then the salesman. When we did our PDI on our current RV again I knew more then the guy walking us around so I told him to leave us alone and I would come in when I was done. This is the average RV dealership. I am sure that the experience will be the same on our next RV purchase...

Couldn't agree more. This seems pretty straightforward, so THOR has made it clear what must be done.
