Palazzo 33.5 Question

I can not find anywhere the dry weight or cargo capacity (NCC/Payload) on a 33.5 Palazzo. I see 26k GVW and 30K CGVW, no cargo capacity?

It also say it can tow to 10k lbs, if the CGVW is 30k that means the coach loaded can't be over 20k lbs.

Help!

Steve

I am sure someone who has a 33.5 will come along and give you the numbers from their vehicle, but my 2014 33.2 is very similar except the refer was removed from the slide to the opposite side.

The specs do not say a 10,000 pound towing capacity... but a 10,000 pound rated hitch... a critical difference.

My 33.2 shows a combined weight of cargo and occupants not to exceed 3697 pounds based on how the coach was equipped when it left the factory. So the dry weight was 22,303.

My actual weights, as I normally run with 2 people and a half tank of fresh water:

Loaded coach: 25,550 (of the 26,000 rating)
Weight of toad: 4,200
Combined weight: 29,750 (of the 30,000 rating)

With over 50,000 miles all over the US, I average right at 10 mpg running with those weights. Do I wish I could go uphill faster... yes, but the amount of time spent climbing is a small part of total miles.

My 2019 33.5 says payload capacity should not exceed 3448 pounds, including fresh water and occupants.

The real limiting factor for max combined weight is the Allison transmission. XCS chassis can do more, but the 2000 series keeps Palazzo around 4000 lbs.

My 33.6 has a 3272 lbs max combined weight of occupants and cargo per the door tag based on how it was equiped by the factory with washer, dryer, solar panel, etc.

The hitch is 10K, but the tow rating on my Palazzo 33.2 is 5K. Log into THOR web page and look up all your rigs drawing and specifications. It is better to have them on your computer with you. There are wire drawing, plumbing drawings, rig specifications, etc..

There is no tow rating, there is a hitch rating a GVWR and a GCWR. The hitch is 10,000, the GVWR on the 33.5 is 26,000 and the GCWR is 30,000 lbs.

The yellow sticker on my 33.5 says cargo can not exceed 3072 lbs, this means it weighs 26,000 - 3072 = 22,928 lbs with full fuel and nothing else, giving you a potential max tow capacity of 30,000 - 22,928 = 7,072 lbs, not realistic without the weight of the driver, so maybe 6,900 lbs. The actual tow capacity is based on how much cargo you carry including people and water. A full tank of water is 789 lbs which would come off the both cargo capacity and towing capacity.
