Jim,
My air matress also leaked but it is covered under the warranty. Be sure and have it replaced. Our replacement air matress works fine.

Gary;
I see you have a Liberty as a toad. I have a chance to get a 2011 4x4 Liberty with a auto transmission.
Any issue with towing 4 wheels down with the Palazzo?

Tom,
Your Liberty will be easier than mine to tow. I have to leave the key in the ignition and have it turned to the first position (before the lights on the dash come on). Your model will not have to do this. Your steering wheel doesn't lock like mine does and that is the reason I have to have the key turned on.
I think that your procedure to put it in neutral is different than mine but the owners manual will give you explicit instructions on what to do.
What I especially like is that there is no stopping every 250 miles or so and start the Jeep's engine and put it in gear like on some other towed vehicles.
I don't think that you will be disappointed with the Liberty - other than getting poor gas mileage. I don't know what I am getting but it has to be somewhere around the EPA estimates of 15 city and 19 highway.

What kind of tow bar, base plate, & braking system are you using?

I have the Falcon All Terrain tow bar and the Roadmaster base plate and the InvisiBrake.
I like the All Terrain tow bar. I will take a pic of the connection between the Jeep and the tow bar and post it later.
I am not totally happy with the InvisiBrake system. If I had to do it all over I would get another kind. There is one that is prewired for the Freightliner chassis but I can't remember the name of it right now. Maybe Jack remembers as Mike Cody mentioned it in the Camp Freightliner seminar.

Here are the brackets with the cross bar removed:
(Sorry for the glare on the right side of the pic but you should get the idea.)

Here is with the cross bar attached:
The pieces hanging down actually attach to the brackets shown in the previous post.

Tom,
I believe the prewiring is for the US Gear Unified tow brake system. I don't know anything about it but it may be worth looking into.

Do you know anything about the "Ready Brute" system.
It has a built in braking system that does not require anything to be placed in the toad.

Is that the one with braking in the tow bar? With that, how do you get breakaway safety?

I'm not familiar with any of the braking systems. I'm a newbie at RVing.

Yep
It also has a brake-away system for worst case.

It is not possible to have a supplemental brake system that does not have anything in the toad to activate the brakes. Since toads do not have air brakes or trailer type electric brakes there needs to be some type of mechanical system to activate the brake pedal. One way of doing that is with a surge system that senses deceleration.
Another one to look at is the Patriot system by Blue Ox. It has the breakaway system included and more important it has a controller that can be activated from the coach and adjustable sensitivity.
The downside to these systems is the installation and removal every time you need to use it.
