Didn't realize that there was another waiting room. Hope they get everything taken care of today. I'm sure there will be other opportunities to meet.

Just had our afternoon brief. All is done.
Waiting for the cleaning crew to finish.
Will spend the night and hit the road in the am.
Has been an interesting visit. Learned a lot from folks on were not to take your coach for service.
I'll return here if at all possible.

Glad all is well. I would imagine you are anxious to get back home. Have a safe trip.

He directed us to the one on Middlebury Street where the class A units are made. Good tour...lasted 1.75 hours.
The discouraging part was alluded to by Dave and confirmed on the tour is that the 33.1 is being discontinued. Bummer

So, much as I surmised earlier.

I agree, dealers are the worst for service. Its all about sales for them... gonna go to Thor for a full PDI.

I am surprised at ending the 33.1. Since there are many like us who only travel with 2 people I thought it would be more popular. Certainly the separate shower was a big deciding point for us. I never checked closely on the difference in price but would expect the 33.1 to be significantly less expensive. I also wasn't very enthused about that big slide and all that was on it.
The good news for us that have them is that if we ever decide to sell they should hold value better because of the limited numbers available to those who want one.

Jerry,
I feel the same as you and I also feel that there are folks that would prefer the 33.1 over the other models. I guess that is good for us if or when we ever decide to sell or trade.
Thanks!

Jack,
I am sure there are those who would say we are just justifying our decision. But as I was luxuriating in my roomy shower a few minutes ago I was think how nice to be able to take a long hot shower and not have to get out so the better half could use the lav!
Now I am not saying that if I won the lottery I would not be test driving a Newell, Prevost, and maybe a few others.

According to the order form that Dave at Total Value RV gave me, there is a MSRP price difference of $1,350 between the 33.1 and 33.2. Dave indicated that Thor isn't taking orders for the 33.1. Checked Internet listings for a 2014 and couldn't find one that I liked.
At the factory tour, the tour guy indicated that there would be new models that they would announce at their open house in September that wouldn't be available for the Hershey show. Unfortunately, the open house is for dealers only. He also intimated that the 33.1 floor plan may come out in a new 35' unit. Guess I will have to wait until fall to make an order.

I would not be opposed to a couple more feet as long as the basic floor plan stayed the same. If the extra footage is to add an extra 1/2 bath (like the 36.1) or other things like washer/dryer unless the washer/dryer were an option, we would prefer the extra storage v/s W/D. What some do not understand...going to the laundry to wash cloths is our date night , only joking so please do not tell Karen
If I was looking for 1/2 baths, washer/dryers, fireplaces, etc. I would buy a 40 plus foot tag axle and do it up right.
The 33.1 may not be right for everyone but it is right for Karen and I!

We really like our 33.1 and would have purchased a different motorcoach by a different manufacturer if the 33.1 was not available. We were looking at a 36' Phaeton or Allergro RED. From my forum readings people seems to have trouble will full wall slides no matter who the manufacturer is. We'll see what Thor comes up with next.

When I attempt to retract the slide from the fully-open position, the travel is smooth for the first 1/3 of the distance, then I begin to hear shuddering and banging from the top of the slide, and it appears as though it's jumping "teeth" on the upper tracks. The slide comes all the way in on the top & makes contact with the top of the sidewall, but there's a 2-3 inch gap at the bottom along the entire slide. Examination of the upper gear tracks both front and rear shows galling of the gear teeth.
Has anyone else experienced this? I can't really use the rig for fear of driving it in rain and getting a major flood inside the coach in the hardest-to-reach places! Have an appointment with a local Thor dealer, but not till July 17th. Given TheArnolds comment on the larger motors and replacement gear shafts, I was wondering if this was fixing the type of problem I'm experiencing ... TIA

Update on my slide situation ...
Having an appointment this coming week to have the large slide repaired, I attempted to retract the slide, knowing I would probably encounter the same 2-3 inch gap at the bottom of the slide, but not bad enough to preclude me driving it to the dealer. Well, I ended up in the same situation one other member encountered, namely the top of the slide would not retract at all, and the bottom retracted 8 inches and then stopped! None of the recommended workarounds would get the slide to move from this cockeyed position. Thor support authorized a mobile RV service to come out & free it up. After 2-1/2 hours of trying everything he & I could come up with to try, Thor recommended cutting both of the aluminum shafts that connect the upper & lower gears on each end. The shafts were severely bowed indicating the tension they were under. Once this was accomplished, the motors were able to retract the top of the slide sufficiently to get the slide parallel with the sidewall, and we were able to push the slide in manually.
As you can imagine I'm quite apprehensive about the successful slide mechanism replacement at other than the factory. Traveling there is just not an option for us now. Will keep you all posted ...

During our visit to THOR our slide system completely checked out.
Added a shim to front and adjusted.
No more cracking sound while driving or moving in or out.
Happy camper!
