Unhappy Palazzo toilet

We have a 2014 33.2 Palazzo, which is new to us. We have owned several Motorhomes in the past and have never had this issue. While being parked in a full service hook up, our toliet has plugged up 2 times in one week. My husband has had to bring in a "pipe" to put in the toliet that sprays water out to unplug the toliet. Has anyone ever had this problem and what did they do to correct it.

I am assuming you leave the black tank closed until it is at least 3/4 full?

Yes we do, but it plugs up long before it is near full

use a LOT of water for each #2 flush... a lot. the toilet sits right over the highest part of the black tank and there's very little 'wiggle' room from the bottom of the toilet outlet pipe and the bottom of the tank. Water, water, water.... hold the footpedal 1/2 way to allow water to gather before fully depressing the footpedal to flush.

Agreed, we have also found certain brands of paper work better than others. We can look down in the tank and if we see paper start to build up..... use Mister t flush method.

agreed, fill toilet with water as much as you can... the flush. After every dump... use city water to clean/flush the black tank after every dump... I do this 3-4 times every dump.

Agreed X 3. First trip out had the same problem. Fill bowl with water before flushing.

If you really want to solve the problem stop putting every wad of barely soiled toilet paper in the bowl. A covered trash can next to the toilet will hold it just as well as the black tank and will never get blamed for plugging the black tank outlet. Also, as other have said...water, water and more water. I pre-load our black tank after dumping by allowing the clean-out spray to run for 5 min after closing the dump valve. We full time in one spot for 2-3 months so a chance of a build up is greater.

We had the same problem. Replaced the standard toilet with a macerating toilet. No problems since. We use only 1/4 the amount of water we used to have to use. With my large family it makes a major difference. This is especially true since we dry camp so much.

The first we heard of this was when visiting Peru. There, you are not allowed to put papers in the toilet due to the inability of their waste system to process the papers. It might sound gross but, if you think about it, there are several advantages of being able to use whatever paper products you want. And, there is no smell.

This is a common practise in Central America as well. Most sewage depends on septic type systems. So there is always a container to put the paper in rather than flushing it. Succinctly stated, it works.

We stopped putting paper in the tank, too, and it sure has made a difference. x4 for the full bowl flush method. I also use the wand from time to time and it really helps to keep everything clean and problem free.
