Thor has stepped up with not only addressing the issue immediately on the manufacturing floor but has also been upgrading the slides with the heavy duty slides with no questions asked.
There is a reason Thor is one of the largest manufacturers of recreational vehicles on the road today, they have a great reputation! I'm on my third Thor motor home.

Excellent points. We found, while shopping for our new Palazzo, that there are several coaches on the market manufactured prior to the "fix" for the slide out problem. At the one dealer where we found one of these on the lot they stated that they had had customer complaints about the issue, and that Thor send a factory technician to their location where he upgraded all the Palazzos they had in stock to the new specs.
Not sure how many they had to do this on nationwide, but it does indicated to me that Thor has a commitment to customer satisfaction.
In browsing various forums I have not found this complaint among owners who have purchased their coaches recently. Not to say other defects won't show up - they usually do - but its comforting to know Thor will be active in helping to resolve them.

All I really know about Thor is how they treated me when I had issues. I never had them decline a warranty issue on either my Outlaw or my Challenger. Camping World on the other hand needs some help. When they tried to repair a squeaking issue I had in my main slide, they not only didn't fix the noise but I had a pretty bad leak. With that I made an appointment at the factory. I spent a week in their lot at night while they performed not only the repair on my slide but also repaired a bunch of really small issues that had been bugging me. They also installed 3/4" shims to correct a lean issue I had but had informed me that they most likely would have to let me take it to a Ford truck center for that.
I couldn't be happier with my Thor. I took the Thor and Newmar factory tour while I was there and in my opinion, Thor is a hands down better design and constructed motor coach.

As most of us do that have a MH, we look at other manufacturers to see the pro's and cons of each so we are better informed when we make our next MH purchase. It is nice to know that Thor stepped up and solved the slide problem. Seems I was reading a lot of negatives about Thor and I may have been mistaken. Thank you for pointing that out. I do like my Tiffin but I am open minded enough to look at other Manufactures. Hope you have safe travels and a merry Christmas.

Thor Palazzo
I've never blogged before, so I hope I don't commit a faux pas. My husband and I don't own a MH, but we are very impressed with the Palazzo. We hope to be ordering the 33.3 bunkhouse within the next few weeks. We are complete newbies to RVing. He is retired and I will be retiring in June and we want to take long trips across the US and we MUST take our 3 cat children with us, thus the MH. I am so excited I can't stand it . I appreciate all your posts about the Thor company and their products. Do y'all suggest that take a trip to Thor's manufacturing plant?

first off... welcome !! We absolutely love our 33.3. We've had it 4 months and our kids love it too. We too are newbies and this is our first rv. We haven't taken a trip to Thor's plant yet but plan on it before our warranty is up next year. I'd like them to check everything out while under warranty. We have had few very minor issues that were taken care of by the dealer and Thor has been very easy to deal with.
good luck and hope you get the 33.3.

Thank you so much for responding! So excited to hear from someone who is driving the 33.3. I see you have a Jeep, too. We were leaning toward the jeep to tow. We are spoiled convertible drivers and want to get something we can enjoy with a rag top. How do you like your jeep? Also, what does the little fire icon stand for?

love our jeep !! easy to tow. Had the Blue Ox tow package installed locally and they also installed the braking system in the jeep. Just had a bike rack installed also on the jeep. DW and I bought each other bikes for Christmas.
I honestly don't know what the fire icon is. It showed up one day. It might be according to how many posts you have. ??

Welcome and best wishes.
As you will see by reading all the posts there are some differences of opinion and some people have been more fortunate than others. We really like our Palazzo and have not had any significant problems. But we also do not have the large slide on our 33.1. We were also extremely careful. This is our first MH so I was very diligent in reading the manuals well before I picked it up. I also did a very thorough PDI before signing anything which was both inspection and training on the system. I made a video to review later.
There are several different systems to consider and things to know about such as air brakes, exhaust brake, adjusting air pressure according to weight, electrical systems, generator operation, wet bay procedures, etc. Thorough understanding will greatly increase you enjoyment so take your time.
As you may have already noted, this forum with various threads is an excellent resource and in many cases far better than the manuals. The Freightline manual is better than the Palazzo manual, BTW. Also, Camp Freightliner is highly recommended. Furtherore, you will want to join FMCA and the Thor Diesel Club for lots of great information. Membership in the Freightliner Chassis Owners Club is free the first year and has some benefits also.
You will see from others that other brands are "better" and I won't argue the point because if I spent $100K+ more than I did from the Palazzo I would expect it to be "better." But for value per price paid I don't see any better deal.
You asked about the campfire icons...it refers to the number of entries posted in iRV2. As you can see, I have made a few!
Safe travels and hope to see you in Myrtle Beach next April for the TDC rally.
