2024 250 RDS water leak

2024 250RDS Titanium

We were out on a 10 day trip when my wife discovered some water on the floor inside the cabinet under the bathroom sink. We thought maybe the shower door had come open somehow while showering. Ok, it was in the 90's in Western Canada so I thought not a big deal since it was a small amount....let's give it another chance.
I put a towel down where the shower meets the floor and the water was to wake up and find the towel quite wet. I disconnected the hose from outside and removed the panel on the bottom of the shower surround. I looked in the back under the shower pan and saw some water on the floor as well as the wood was a little wet. After speaking with the service department at ORV in Oregon about using the water pump, using a small portable fan and Mike saying," Just mop it up" we decided the best option was to not use the water at all since it was now dry. Both places we stayed at had facilities, but was still a royal pain in the butt to not be able to shower, use the toilet or either sink.

When we toured the factory, we saw them water testing the models on the line and I do know that something may have failed or come loose along the way.

In looking at it, I have no idea how they will even get to it...??

Maybe some one on her can offer up an explanation to help cool me off on a trailer that is 5 months old and is leaking.

You are not going to be thrilled with my suggestion, but here goes.
Turn your pump on, get down under with a good light and look for the offending connector. Once you spy the drip or wet fitting, shut down the pump and let the plumbing area warm up on a hot day, then go under and tighten the fitting or fittings.
I have located leaks on the inlet and outlet of the water heater and needed to tighten those fittings too. Same for the toilet.
Just takes patience.

Check your outside shower connections. Make sure the faucet is turned off as well.

I say this because one time I was playing around with the outside faucet connection and I caused it to spray water all over inside the connection area. Few days later i was in the bathroom and noticed some water on the floor. Thinking the shower was leaking I took the panel off the shower base and looked under the shower pan. Looked wet like yours. I ran the shower and no leak at the drain. After a while and snooping around I realized that it was the residual water from the outside shower snafu that had ran down the inside of the wall and onto the floor under the shower.
The outside shower fitment box is open or not completely sealed to the inside of the trailer so any water can drain inside.

Phew.

X2 , I have a 2018 25RDS and I was just in that area just because I was curious to see everything. I would really look hard at that outdoor shower faucet. One thing you could try is to tie a string to some of those throw away Costco white towels (or whatever) and take something to poke in there to move the cloth around and get it good and dry. Even leave it in there as you pressure test it. Good luck!

I'm Soooo disapointed in the company guy saying to "just mop it up." That's just unaceptable! I'll stop there.......
A quick return to the dealer would be my response. The longer the wood stays damp, the more issues that could crop up. You shouldn't have to resort to antics on your knees due to the lack of craftsmen/women ship.
Sorry for your problem. Our unit must have been made when people cared about the product.

We have a 2019 250RDS - the outside shower fittings are a good suggestion. Next I would wonder about the fittings on the back of the shower valve. I just replaced our shower valve with a single knob temp adjusting valve. Those fittings can be a little challenging to access but a skinny pair of channel locks can help if needed.

I know it's not fun to find this stuff but it is very much 'par for the course'. The only leak we had was a cracked fitting coming off hot water heater under the kitchen sink. Elbow was pressing up against some wood framing and it couldn't take the stress while bouncing down the road. On the input side, the air breather tube for the fresh water tank was kinked so you couldn't properly fill the tank. Oh, and that shower drain in your picture - the slip nut on ours would slide down just enough so that the shower would start draining very slowly. Tightening the nut would only last for so long. I finally put a block of wood under the p-trap to keep it from doing that.

While we've found our ORV unit to maybe? have a 'slightly' better design quality and mfg process than other mainstream manufacturers, we've found they are still subject to the limitations of inexpensive+light weight RV building materials along with minimum labor floor jockeys who are probably incented more on quantity than quality.

Yep, this. Sucks that it happened but all you can do now is find the leak and tighten the joint....or have someone else do it.

We had a water leak under the shower pan on our 250 RDSW. Turns out it was a loose "crimped" cable clamp, only accessible after removing the fireplace (under the TV).

Good luck!

Bob
