Adding Fresh Water at Remote Site
We are fairly new to the RV game. We have a 23BKS which is parked for summer on a parcel of land we have in central Oregon Ochoco Mountains. We have been carrying fresh water to our site in 5-6 gallon poly jugs, but lifting and pouring them into the trailer tank is starting to wear on me. Just wondering if some of our more seasoned members are aware of options other than lift and pour? Thanks

Are you in a position where the truck can be above the water input enough to use a gravity feed? My parents used to use a tank like this for transporting water: https://north40.com/den-hartog-pick-up-tanks

Where gravity doesn't work, a small 12v pump can transfer the water. If you are camped in a location with 120v AC, you'd even have more options. Search for 'freshwater' pumps or 'drinking water' pumps, you don't want to use a pump meant for anything less.

I have several water jugs that I use, plus a 12V water pump (spare Shur-flo like what's in the trailer). Just bought another 7 pin plug and use that get 12V off the truck to run the pump.

We use a pony pump to transfer from jugs to tank. I added a garden hose fitting onto some PVC pipe that is used to put a water hose into the fresh water fill. https://www.harborfreight.com/110-hp...ump-63317.html

If you have someplace higher than the outlet to set the jug, a siphon is your friend. If you can stuff the outlet of the siphon tube down a ways into the water inlet, you don't have to keep the jugs all that high. Not super fast, but easy. I've seen siphon tubes with a squeeze pump to get the flow started, not sure how well they work.

I bought a 60 gallon water bag from amazon and a pump (110 v) to get pump the water when boondocking. I like the 110v, it seems to pump faster. The water bladder is worth the price and the whole kit takes up no more than a small box.
