You did unknowingly answer my question I had about being able to use the leveling system to assist you in changing a flat tire.

I use my leveling system to do all of my tire and suspension work on my rig which is 17K GVWR.
One thing you have to be careful with is lifting all four off the ground at the same time. This can cause your shackles to flip which will cause problems and are difficult to get back in place.

I think the don't has more to do with liability, something happens and they can say we told you not to. I had the ST tires taken off before I took delivery and the dealer lifted it with the levelers. I installed disc brakes and lifted the 5W with the levelers, six rams at x LBS per, you use a 3 ton floor jack or bottle jack with one piston. I just lift a little at a time and move to the other side until it's off the ground, lift all the way on one side could possibly bend a frame. I do have a jack stand under for the just in case, I was taught never go under w/o.

WOW this thread completely morphed into something else! From asking for help resetting my LCI electric OneTouch leveling system to using leveling system to work on brakes and bearings!

Typically one question will lead to another. Its all good though, glad that you got your leveling system all dialed in.

Does anyone actually know if it hurts the frame and/or the Lippert Ground Control units if the wheels do come off the ground? What can it break?
Thanks to all, Dave

Its probably the possible twisting of the frame, which would put undue stress on the walls. Just my opinion only!

[QUOTE=BoomtownDave;5649684]Does anyone actually know if it hurts the frame and/or the Lippert Ground Control units if the wheels do come off the ground? What can it break?
Hi Dave, in my research through the LCI manual it does state do not lift the trailer wheels off the goround, but that's probably for liability purposes. I do recall when this initially happened and I was trying to get the system ( and the trailer) back to level I torqued it enough for the screen to warn me that the frame was twisted. I had the slide in at the time, of course. I imagine that if I would've stopped at that point and tried to put the slide out I could have done some real damage, thus the warning. Another thing, quite ugly btw, when the levelers brought the wheels off the ground, and that extended the shackles, I panicked and hit the abort, then retracted the levelers. As the trailer came back down the shackles popped very loud and I was lucky everything fell back in place. That could've been damaging, maybe not, I don't know but it didn't sound good! So after that we took a 2000 mile trip and everything seemed to be ok. Thru the entire trip we used the levelers in the manual only mode until we got back home and that's when I started this thread. I don't know if you read my post about the re-zero with the help of the fine people here. That's how this all started. So the system is quite touchy and in my opinion could do damage.
