Back Country 24 KRS

Anybody have full roof photos of a 24KRS? I have one on order and am anticipating how to add max solar panels? Has anyone else done so? Tips? Thanks.

I dumped them off my phone, someone else asked awhile back. Try the search bar up top. Should be able to find them.

Your gonna have a skylight over the dinette area, the shower skylight on opposite side and a tv antenna.. maybe on the antenna.

Yes, I am wondering how many large size Zamp panels I can reasonably fit up there.

All I can say is if you have one on order with confirmation, email ORV, they should be able to send you roof specs. If you know the size of the panels you want, see how you can lay them out, being careful of shading...A/C, vents etc. Some put panels up front, some put mid ship, some towards the rear or a combination of the above.

Iíve opted for 3 - 100 watts up front, works pretty good, never run out of power from April to Oct, but weíre up North and weíre easy on power. I will be upgrading to a good mppt controller at some point over my current pwm.

When/if I ever get my 24KRS back from the dealerís service shop I would be happy to take photos for you.

I made a couple of trips with the single 170 watt Zamp solar panel, but got so little power from it (< 1/2 amp) when camping that I donít think I will bother adding more. In full sun I get 5 amps, but I donít camp in full sun.

Photos would be great, thanks!

0.5 amps seems like something is wrong. Even 5 amps does not seem very good.

This is my first experience with solar panels. The production is disappointing, but I donít know if that reflects a problem with the system or just the nature of solar panels.

I am planning g to call the dealer today to see what the status of my trailer is. If the dealer will let me have access to it I can get pictures today or tomorrow.

24KRS Roof Photo

Attached is a photo of our roof with two solar panels on the front which are zamp 175w. We ordered the trailer with these installed from factory. There appears to be room for up to three more. One to the left of air conditioner and two at the back end left and right. Make sense?

Very helpful, thank you. Yes, I think you are correct regarding 3 more panels. So that would be 5 panels total. For me that would be 190W x 5 = 950W maximum.

Have you dealt with cleaning under the solar panels? My thought is to use tilting brackets, less so to actually tilt them but to facilitate cleaning under them.

How long have you used this system? What amperage do you get from it? Are you charging the FLA batteries on the trailer tongue?

I am asking in order to assess the performance of the solar panel on my 24KRS.

Thanks!

My 24KRS came with a 170 watt panel. Are they offering a different panel now?

Mine is pre-wired for three of the 170 watt panels. For more power I believe you will have to start over - new heavier wiring, combiner box, and controller.
