Just like Highway, we purchased a separate 20 lb or 4.7 US gallons smaller propane tank to be used to supply our barbecue/grill as well as to supply our propane fire pit. ( in case of campfire bans, convenience or to used in our tent.) and or to supply a propane latern.

Can also be used for cooking on non camping picnic occasions.

Works great, it’s handy, cost effective. Highly recommend.

If I was plumbing into a tee I would install a valve on the line going to the BBQ line. Just another way to isolate the supply line in the unlucky event of a broken line.

Sunny in Southern California.... snow at home. Not missing the coquihalla highway being closed.

Since the picnic table at a campsite is never close to the trailer to use an extension hose here's what we do. We have a bunch of 20 lb tanks floating around the house anyways so we take one of those and put the tee that ORV (or the dealer) included with our trailer. It has a fitting to that the "low pressure" costco BBQ hooks upto and it has a fitting for the "high pressure" 1 lb bottle type hose. We use the costco bbq on one fitting and we have a Campchef Everest campstove that puts out 20m BTU per burner. We put the tank under the picnic table and we can cook and bbq at the same time.

What I did with my set-up.....the same one you have is remove the connection for the hose and extend the line using High Pressure stainless steel 3/8" tubing to a suitable location the re-installed the connection to use the High Pressure hose to my regulated gas grill. I did install a 1/4" high pressure ball valve a "fitting or two" away from where the original connection was. Also used "bulkheads" and a high pressure flex hose to tie into the 3/8" stainless. When I say "high pressure" I mean the fittings and tubing are good beyond 600 psig. It is all very carefully routed and mounted to frame rail. Works very well.
