Emergency window screen

Hello, just wondering why Outdoors RV puts a screen on the Emergency windows since it is an inoperable window? You would never open the window unless you are pushing it out in an emergency. Thanks.

We have two emergency windows in our 25RDS. One in the slide out and the other in the bedroom. We open the bedroom one at night sometimes while using the max fan to cool down.
The other one in the slide gets opened when we want more airflow in the living area.
So I guess thats why ORV has screens on the emergency windows.

There not inoperable, they will slide open, fairly stiff when new. After many opening and closings of ours they are working just fine, DW couldn't open them for the first little bit. Just don't hit the red handle unless you need to.

We use ours all the time. Windows open with fans exhausting air out the top cools it down really well. We have two and neither would open until I used a bone tool from the outside to get them unstuck. Now they work just fine. You may want to work them open and closed a few times. Being the exit seems kind of important!

After some grunting we got ours open, then sprayed some drislide in the track. They work fine now.
