F26RKS and F28RKS pin weights

TV: 2020 GMC DuraMax 2500HD GVW 11350. Truck weight with Me, wife, dogs, tools and hitch(if i go 5'er) is just under 9200lbs. do not have hitch but used mfg weight. I have 2150lbs payload left.

I believe i have enough for the 26, but wife likes the 28 better.

Thoughts?

I looked up the 28 footer and is claims a max of just under 13k. So I'd bet a pin weight of 2700.

Because I already had my 2013 RAM 2500 Tradesman, and under 550 weight in the truck, I was never over my GAWR, and never over gross combined. I was within 500 of max on the rear axle. I'd use the payload as a guide, but as long as I'm not over the axle ratings, I'd roll with it.

Load up with anticipated loads and got to a scale for official weight. I'd weigh my truck separately first.

With my learning, and knowing we will buy another 5th wheel, I bought a 2020 RAM 3500 Diesel Tradesman dually that will pull our anticipated purchase and be under 70% easily. And definitely under 80%.

With water 1/2 full and very little in the trailer my pin weight is 2700 lbs. Very surprised your truck loaded up is so heavy. My 2015 3500 duramax loaded up is about 8500 lbs

yup, loaded for bear I am right at 2700 with empty tanks, full propane and 20 gallons of water.

My F250 is a gasser which is the only way I am under the Gross weight limit. It tows great, better than my bumper pull 7500 pound ORV, but it is clearly not enough truck. Will be getting a new F350 when inventories recover. Parked for now working 7 days a week with no end in site so not a big deal but rear axle and brakes would be a problem with any ORV 5th wheel and a 3/4 ton. They all are firmly in 1 ton territory.

Fantastic trailers though, we have been full time for several months and loving it!

Weigh your rear axle weight and see what you have left from the gawr and tire rating.
