When we owned travel trailers we always carried two of the Honda 2000i gens. Paired we never had any issue running the AC from the two generators. We tried using one generator many times. Occasionally it would work for a while. But never reliably.
Now that the 2200i is out... it might have worked. We don't know as we moved to motorhomes with built in gensets.
Those hondas are great investments. We bought two 2000i and the pairing cable for $1700. We used them for 10 years and put nothing into them but gas and oil - and then sold them on Craigslist for $1000 cash when we got the motorhome.
Can't lose on a deal like that.

Times 2 on that. I sold my last two EU2000s for $800 and one for $700. On average my net cost is about $45 a year to have them and I have never had a problem with any of them. I know there are cheaper made units out there, but I don't think you can beat the Honda's for reliability, quietness, gas economy and net cost of ownership.
Also the Honda's have a fuel pump so you don't have to elevate an extend-a-tank for extended run.

How does the MicroAir work for you? Easy install and does it do what they claim?

Interesting note on compatibility Gerryl. Somehow I missed that in my research. My EU2000i serial number doesn't fall within the acceptable range.
I did hook them together and run the A/C plus Micro, and then tried toaster plus micro, and everything was great. I had my Progressive EMS turned off to get around the floating ground issue so I guess I wouldn't be protected against possible low voltage with this combo.
Maybe I'll sell the 2000i and try to live with only the 2200 on it's own and be careful to only use one major appliance at a time. I'm getting tired of spending so much money and don't feel like buying a second 2200 right now!

FWIW
Today only, Home Depot has as their special buy of the day, a pair of Ryobi 2300 Super Quiet generators along with the parallel kit for $999. Free delivery included.
I know nothing about these generators, nor do I work for Home Depot.
I do check these daily deals and have been able to purchase some items I needed at the lowest prices possible.
Good luck on your search.

It was fairly easy to install. I did have a glitch with my AC though. Fortunately their tech support is great and they walked me through it. I had to buy a different $4 part, (a capacitor I think) and exchange that for the one on my unit. It was a common part and the electric store had them on the shelf. The MicroAir is specifically designed for RV and boat ACs so they know their stuff.
I was able to run my AC (with my EU2000) but was always careful not to turn on anything else that would be a draw. I put the frige on Gas also. The savings in gas (instead of running my onboard Gen) and the noise factor was worth it to us.
Does it do what they claim? Absolutely

That compatibility chart came with a supplement to the EU2200 instruction book.

Thanks for the tip. I sent a text to my nephew and he ordered them. You were right about the 'one day only sale'. Today they are back to $1,199.
Although I am a big Honda EU fan, I think those Ryobis will work for him.

I changed my jets to 4000 to 8000 ft units, since I normally camp at about 6 to 7000 ft. Works fine. They even have 8 to 10k+ jets available.
You still lose efficiency at altitude, but my experience tells me it is much less than the 3% mentioned.
My wife gets headaches at above 8000 ft., so I don't tell her.

A turbo would make up for the altitude.

Great News
We will be taking possession of our 250RKS this week and were struggling with what gen set to buy and in the end purchased the Honda 2200 Companion. With the idea it would not run the A/C. Its great news to hear it may do all we need!

When I know that the Honda 2200 will run my 13.5 air, I'll get one for travels. If it runs the AC alone I'll be good with that. I have used my Honda 3000 for 15+ years without an issue.

Just saw this on Utube. Kind of mirrors my thoughts on the Honda EU2200
