Hot Water Re-Circulation Pump

Here is something that I've seen a lot of posts about. It takes just less than a half gallon of running the water to get hot water to the shower or bathroom basin. This is a pretty huge amount of water when boon docking. And yes, I know you can catch the water and re-purpose it. I installed a re-circulation pump under the tub/shower. Tied it on to the hot side of the shower faucet with a varying menagerie of fittings and 1/2"FPTX1/2"FPT hose connector. Installed a food safe, high temp water re-circulation pump. The new line runs under the coach and tee's into the water heater cold inlet. There is a switch outside the bathroom to turn the light on and off in the bathroom. We always just leave that switch on, so I used that switch to turn the pump on and off as needed. Picked up power for the pump there too. Flip the switch, let the pump run for about 15-30 seconds......instant hot water at the shower. Side note....I happened to have the coroplast belly material down doing some other work. So I figured if there was ever a time to do this it was now. It would be pretty hard to do this without the belly material down. Sorry some(most!) of the pics are sideways...........not sure what to do about that!

Where did you source the pump? In my RV the hot water line to the shower also feeds the kitchen sink, so having a small circ pump that runs to the sink could take care of two fixtures at once.

i got the pump from Amazon. I saw several that stated, food safe and hi-temp, for around $18-$30, but thinking I don't want to rebuild this in a year I went with this one for $90.00

There is a system that doesn't require a pump, it sends the water back to the tank.

Thinking of doing the same without a pump.
Hot water tank, sink, shower all in line.
it might work but adding a pump at that point will be easy enough. Did you add a check valve or anything so water doesnt go back to fresh water tank? I'm not sure if that could happen with the little bit of looking I did.

Just a little info I left out. You only turn the pump on for 20-30 seconds when you ready to hop in the shower. Then you turn it off
