Previous coach had 600w on the roof and 200w i could set our portable when needed. All 100w panels.

Planning to install 1400-1600w on the current coach, along with retaining the capability of the 200w portable.

Need to start with usage assessment. Or just go big capacity, as panels are pretty cheap now. (-:

We are heavy user. 600w was ok with four batteries. Going bigger with new coach due to RR and to have ample capacity. 8 batteries planned.

4 6V flooded/AGM batteries on the tongue and 4 AGM 6 V batteries under the dinette( in the basement). Have this setup the last 6 years in our TC, 4 batteries under the dinette.

Four 130 watt panels and 6 gc2 batteries. I may be adding another 480 watts to round it off at 1000 watts. More is better.

For the portable - do you just plug it into the Zamp connector on the side of the RV? Or is there something else you need to do?

I should made it our past situation in the TC a little clearer. 4 AGM batteries under the dinette in total. It was all we needed.

I use 3 group 31 AGM jars in my TC. I get a real deal on these babbies as we sell them onto Rolls-Royces at work.
