How much cargo?

Looks like we are getting the 2015 Blackstone 280rksb. Rated for 2100 lbs cargo carrying capacity.....dry 8050 and max 10150. I'm estimating:
Water.........750
Propane......60
Batteries....120
Tools...... 50
Hitch...... 250
Clothes.... 100
Food........ 150

Almost 1500 lbs...... am i missing anything or off on estimates? Is 600 lbs enough of a buffer?

imho.. 1/ over 1000# will lie forwards of the TT wheels, so good. 2/ your safety will depend upon a/how well you maintain your TT tires and brakes, and b/ your TV (eg 3/4T).

Thanks Bobbin....TV is 1T Dodge 3500 Dually. But really looking for info on the weight estimates and if i am leaving anything out. No way do i want to go over their numbers since they are based one the axle ratings.

Most dont tow with a full tank of water. I my self tow with zero water in the tank. I can always find a place to fill up close to our destination. I carry two gallons of water under the sink for bathroom stops.

Good idea. Have you ever arrived to your destination and not have water available or are you always able to verify in advance? You never dry camp?

I find water at city parks, fire stations, local businesses. Last year was the first time I was thrown for a loop. I stopped in at the local ranger station in Winthrup for our annual dear hunting trip and they were blowing out the lines when we pulled up. I then went down to the city park and it was turned off. I then went to the Les Schwab in Twisp and filled up before heading up to camp. Even got a bag of popcorn for drive and a few updates on animal sittings.

We are in Edmonds and have a cabin in Lake Wenatchee as well. We spend most of our travels in the N.E. corner of Washington.

When computing for the total trailer weight to make sure you don't go over gvwr do you subtract the tongue weight? Does that mean your total trailer weight equals the weight on the axles?

We got to Jordan, Montana the first year we hunted out there and I asked at the local RV park if I could fill my tank with water before heading out for our deer hunt. She informed me that no one drinks the water in Jordan. Evidently it is very alkaline and not fit to drink. Fortunately the only grocery store in town was well equipped with bottled water and they verified the water is not good. We got multiple five gallon jugs for our trip and made sure the next year we came with full tanks. Only time or place I've ever gotten stuck and boy did my hunting buddies remind me.

I wouldn't include the hitch weight in the trailer's load.

And we have a lot more clothes, books, dvds, pots and pans, other household stuff, etc as we're snowbirds.

I always tow with some water in the fresh tank. Makes it easy to use the bathroom or wash the hands when getting a bite to eat on the road.
With that being said you should always figure you'll some of the tanks full. Not every CG has full hookups. If you figure always being empty then what happens when you do have to fill a tank?
Just because some never travel with a full fresh tank doesn't mean none will.
To the OP what hitch are you looking at that weighs 250 lbs? Most are in the 100 lbs range. Except for a Hensly Arrow type.

I hardly ever travel with water in the tanks, don't like the added weight nor the water sloshing around in the tank. There is enough stress moving a house on wheels without several hundred pounds of movable weight in the tanks.
