Probably would have been a Lance but we wanted one without slideouts. Less potential for water/bug problems. And what would we do if we were in the middle of nowhere and we couldn't get the slideout back in?

Page 16 shows the manual override procedure.

On a Schwintek I have no idea. It can be done but is more complicated.
Neither are impossible.

And that's a big part of the reason why I just changed to an Arctic Fox 22G without a slideout. Over almost 8 years, every time I pushed the IN/OUT switch on the WR slide, I crossed my fingers. But to be honest, it always worked!

I'm not a huge fan of slides but they make a massive difference in interior space and the wife wanted one. My compromise was to get one only and have it with no real mechanical in it (no fridge, etc.) and to put on a slide topper. As mentioned above, there are ways to retract in an emergency.
I do understand the desire to avoid slides though.

thank you all for your insight. Seems to be a good consensus among the group.
I am yet to be notified by my dealer of an increase. I was subject to an increase in September of $2800.

While I too have been hit with a big increase on my order, I've been considering other models. My question is if anyone knows if the Artic Fox or Lance will have similar price increases compared to last years models? If so, do I just break even or maybe even lose a little by changing?

I have no direct knowledge but I cannot imagine that any trailer manufacturer is immune to the massive increase in the cost of goods and materials.

strangely enough, my local ORV dealer has some new inventory that appears is priced prior to this latest increase. .....almost considered buying a 2022 FQS22 Titanium and selling my 21RBS privately.
I bought last November prior to any increases but even then the dealers were warning of increases in the spring.....I did well buying off the lot even though we were somewhat limited in our choices.

Northwood is adding surcharges as well but they're not nearly as high. But the price of their North Forks are off the charts IMO.
$70K MSRP for a 30' 28F?
Under options you can see the total amount $ and what they are. But it's hard to figure out how much each item is as they don't list the cost of the item. But judging but the total cost of the options and whats been added it doesn't look like NW is adding anywhere near $5600

Sold my 96 Foretravel this past spring. Wanted to downsize and simplify. Sometimes I wonder if I did the right thing, but whats done is done.
