Thanks! Looks like a fair amount gained. Guess I’ll add them to the to-do list.

@Skid_o - how did you secure it to the bottom? Is it working out well? Thanks!

I picked up this LPG tank lock. Went to install it and realized it was designed by two blind dyslexic monkeys. I was gonna return it but it was hardly worth the hassle so I MacGuyvered it. Works pretty good now.

Just installed 4 100 watt solar panels on the roof of our 21 RBS and wired in a Victron smart charge controller, Victron smart shunt, and a couple of Blue Seas breakers and two buss bars. Mounted all the electronics in the storage compartment and ran the wiring up through the floor from the electrical box underneath. Also changed out the Zamp box on the roof for an AM Solar box. Took two long days for two of us. Will post pics when I get a chance. Taking off for 2-4 weeks down the coasts of WA, OR and CA (AZ?) so should be a good test. The thick fog we've had here the last couple of days will have to lift before they do much so might be a while before I see much charging on the phone app

Finally - a beautiful dry day....on a weekend.... I got started on the installation of a WeBoost 25 ft telescoping antenna pole to add a directional antenna to the cell booster. Not wanting to stick the two wall plates directly to the side of the trailer I fashioned a couple metal plates for them and am u-bolting those to the large tube ladder on the rear. Unfortunately, WeBoost only included one of the adhesive wall plates so I need to get them to send me the second one before I can finish things up. The antenna should be arriving sometime next week as well.

Very nice and my husband the ham radio guy now has something else he wants for our trailer. Where does the pole store when not in use? Why not put the plates on the trailer wall? Cleaning issues? Looks?
I'm using good weather here to install my 2 x 190 watt solar panels and a charge controller to add to the inverter, transfer switch, and battery monitor I installed in November.

The biggest reason I didn't want to put the plates directly on the trailer wall is I don't trust the adhesive alone to hold them long term and I did not want to put additional holes in the side of the trailer. Some of the reviews I read indicated there were problems with the adhesive - in one case after only a couple months. So some reviewers were recommending pop rivets or some other fastener in addition to the adhesive. Added bonus here is I can easily move it to the next trailer if/when that happens.
When traveling the pole will ride in the bed of the F-250 which has a Leer 120 Hi-Rise canopy on it. It does collapse down short enough that it would fit in the front pass-thru storage, but I've already got a lot of stuff in there including the 200 watt portable solar setup.

Here's a couple of pics of the solar panels and wiring. We've had power where we've stayed so far so haven't needed the panels yet and the sun is pretty low this time of year anyway up here. All working well though.

This question is to LBZYA from 2015, so it's an oldie...how has the underslung spare worked out? Looks like a great idea, other than clearance. I am looking to free up my back bumper for a bike rack. Our trailer is a 2014 ORV Creek Side 20FQ
Any ideas are welcomed!

Welcome to the forum. For a quicker response from LBZYA, go to the original post and left click on LBZYA. You will have the option of sending him a PM, which will probably get you the answer you want.

Hi. We have a Hide-a-Spare, and have not noticed any clearance issues at all. We use the rear hitch for a custom carrier for storage.

Howard Burger: Thanks for the tip. I am new to the site (though we are long-time ORV owners and have participated in the ORV rallies in Oregon), so I'm feeling my way through things!

Laura970: thanks for the input! We are not new to RV'ing, but still consider ourselves "limited" with regard use of our RV (other things in the way) and hope to begin to change that!.
So, is that a brand name for your spare mount? If so, where did you purchase it and how is it mounted?
