We acquired our 22FQS in March. In between trips, I"ve been busy adding both niceties as well as substantial electrical system improvements (documented elsewhere)

Here are some of the niceties
1) A fold up cutting board made of hard maple.
2) We were tired of the medicine cabinet contents being strewn about, so I completely remade the cabinet. I used Baltic birch for the sides and top, walnut for the face frame, and 1/4" utility board for the dividers. I managed to re-use the door. The interior is completely sealed so that wet stuff wont wreck it.
3) a drop-down spice rack ( I stole this idea from elsewhere on this forum)
4) a slide-out platform for the under-sink trash can
5) I upgraded to an Easy Touch thermostat (expensive but worth it)
6) I mounted the Starlink roof mount permanently, and ran the router cable through the rear exterior wall, through the cabinets to where the router hides behind the TV. When we stop, I haul the Starlink "Dishy" to the roof and plug it in (hoping they come out with a travel-safe dishy)

Paul, that Easy Touch RV thermostat looks great but I failed to see how to
figure out which model I need. Of course ORV probably uses different ones
so mine is probably different from yours.

Hi Gammel,

if you go to this site: https://www.microair.net/products/ea...-rv-thermostat
There's a big button "Which model do I need?"
Extremely straightforward

Install was also easy, although a helper to hold things as wires are inserted is nice.

update on solar install

Hadn't had a chance to use the solar panels we installed (4-100 watt) until I took the trailer to MT for hunting in Sept. Three weeks + of boondocking and only had to run the generator once, but only to charge the battery for my drill (didn't hook up to trailer). Ran the furnace most evenings and some nights when it got below freezing. The two GC batteries never got below 12.3 that I saw and no problems at all. Some sites were full sun and others had some shade during daylight. All in all very pleased with the setup. Thinking about installing an inverter but would probably only use it for the microwave once in awhile to thaw something for dinner if I forget to take it out of the freezer. The only problem was one of the drawers we store heavy canned goods in broke (very rough roads). The thin bottom of the drawer fell out. Easy fix with gorilla glue and some adhesive staples. We had it overloaded.

Installed these this summer. I know that the newer ORV's come with them but my 2019 didn't. I bought them for $20 a pair on Amazon. They're for kayaks and came with a removable waterproof bag. I drilled a pilot hole and finished cutting the hole out with some red handled Wiss snips.
Super easy and cheap. Makes reaching for the dump handles a lot easier.

Dump valve and hose storage.

I never liked the standard hose (it came apart and the shower I received was not pleasant) and I made this mod on a bigfoot truck camper. Liked it so much I repeated it on the trailer with some improvements. The worst part was relocating the fuel pump.

Got tired of feeding the dump hose under the coach to hook it up, so I built this.

This is awesome. Any chance you can find the Amazon link?

Cumminsfan- thanks for the link, it went to an 8" cover ($20 each). I found a pair of 6" ($20 total) down below on that page.

After seeing the pictures of the hatch covers, I went to Amazon and also ordered the two for $20.00, 6 inch round covers. Now to get the nerve to cut into the metal skirts!

adding counter outlet, '19 21RBS

When we bought our '19 21RBS it didn't come with a flip-up counter extension, so I added one. An additional outlet by the extension would be nice, but I wasn't going to even try to run romex up through the foam wall, so Wiremold was the solution.

Howard, we also have a 19 21RBS without the flip up counter. Where did you find the hardware to make it? I like the added outlets!

hardware source for extension

I got my hardware from Rockler (rockler.com). They lock into place and are pretty sturdy.

I put a small standout under the shelf and a magnet on the outside of the cabinet to lock the shelf down while travelling; to screw the bracket into the veneer of the cabinet side I backed it with a couple of pieces of scrap 1x6.

But I found a modification on a different rv forum where the shelf comes up flush with the counter top. I'll try to find that information and PM you when I do, later today.
