Wooden blocks, muddy shoes, a can of WD, bar of soap and a gallon of water, used dog poop bags. The stuff I really don't want to put inside.

Here is a discussion of our solar panel addition. We also traded out all the incandescents for LEDs. Finally because of our northern latitude, our first mod was blackout curtains!

For now its a Renogy 100W. We're not big users (not very many lights and no inverters or anything) and that seems to be maintaining battery voltage unless we have a heavy use day and rainy weather.... Like Memorial Day weekend when I watched the Indy 500 and had pouring rain all day Sunday.

What I am about to relate is not a unique ORV mod.

Our WR was purchased with dual 6 volt batteries. The rig is now almost 1 1/2yrs old. Today I am preparing the rig for a short trip starting Wednesday and notice a puddle of water under the batteries. Strange, no puddle under the rain gutter downspouts. Upon nosing around I find that the lower outside edge of one of the battery box covers is wet. Strange. Upon removing the battery box cover I see that the "air"space between the battery and the inside of the box is completely flooded with water, right up to the top! The same turns out to be true for the second battery!

So, what I concluded (astutely) is that over the past 17 months rain and/or road spray entered the battery boxes through the very small vent holes in the top of the boxes and eventually filled them since there were no drain holes in the bottom of the boxes. After removing the batteries from the boxes (very heavy and awkward to handle for this old duffer ), I drilled a drain hole in each of the bottom four corners of both boxes. (How clever was that?)

So, if your battery boxes are dripping, this might be your solution.

We have 6 of these LED lamps really like them.

We find many of our cabinets to be quite dark and these solve the problem without any wiring needed. The auto on/off feature works perfectly thus the 3-AA batteries last a very long time. We didn't need to replace them until after a 4 month trip!

On a previous camper we had trouble with the foot pedal on our toilet. It always gave me nightmares worrying if the water was going to shut off. Yesterday I modified the water line coming into the toilet in our Timber Ridge by adding a shark bite on/off tap. The install using the Sharkbite was just minutes, the peace of mind will last a lifetime.
