On the 2 year old Cougar I used to own, the suspension squeaked loudly. I went to Amazon and ordered the Mor Ride wet bolt kit and installed it myself. The plastic bushings were toast, the shackles worn, and one of the bolts were was also worn badly. Pretty easy swap out using simple tools and an air gun( God must have invented air guns!).
Very happy to have the Mor Ride on our Timber Ridge.

Great service. Shipping cost was included.
Found them cheaper in the USA even with currency exchange, however, they do not ship to Canada.
Never did check local RV stores

Labour took about 4 hours to remove old and install new ones. I think the shop rate was around $100.00 CDN per hour. That was pricy but worth it to me.

Add the tax to these amounts.

Appreciate this info. Will probably do the work myself in the late spring. Too busy right now mountain biking in the sun here in the Okanagan.

You left for snowbird land yet?

Photos of Morryde cre3000

Sorry for not replying sooner. Here is a photo of the install of the morryde cre3000 with wet bolts. The bolts are installed on the inside of the hangers so the zerks are always accessible. I purchased them from RVupgrades.com.

Youtube has several how-to examples. Some make it sound really difficult, but basically all you need are jacks, stands and a wrench set.

Here is a stock photo from their site, and another from my install.

Before anyone asks, the strap in the photo is to hold my tire covers on in the 40mph winds we have today!

Your placements of the zerk fittings make more sense than the ones in the factory photo.

Leave in 2 weeks...if weather is good doing the I-5 from Vancouver.
Distination is Hemet California.

If I had the right driveway and a younger body...this is a DIY.
Forgot to mention I got the trailer bearing inspected and repacked, tires rotated and brakes inspected adjusted at the same time.
Great weather did the Adams River Sockey salmon run.

Aluminum steps

So while I was under the coach admiring the Morryde install, I took a look at the way the steps are mounted. Diane and I dislike the stamped metal as too aggressive for bare feet! And the 3 steps always leaves the first one just a little too high off the ground.

There are only 6 bolts holding the unit in place. Figured it would be an easy swap out for a set of aluminum with 4 treads. When the Alumi-Tread unit arrived, the UPS guy asked me to help lift it off the truck! Whoa. Didn't expect it to be twice as heavy as the OEM. It seems to be very well built.

Taking the old one out was simple. It was light enough to manage. But how to get the new one lifted into place and the bolt holes lined up. BTW, the hangers on the ORV for a 28" step are welded on at 27.9". Saw a post where someone else mentioned this tight fit!

Wire brushed and painted the hangers and frame rails. Figured the new paint would help it slide into place. Used a handcart and a floor jack to get it positioned just right. Made it easy to wiggle it around for the bolts to go in.

Going to try it out this week on a trip down the Appalachians leaf peeping.

They sure do, brilliant Cliff! I had resolved myself to doing the same when I get back home. Surely my bushings will be worn and in need of replacement. I’ll reverse the bolts since we have so much clearance under the trailer anyways.

I thought about the stair upgrade but I need to find weight to remove, not add. We have a wide and long aerobics step that we set just inside the door to make up our difference.

As to the zerks position, I put them in facing out. I've always used a flex hose on my grease gun, and there is NO problem getting to them from the outside!! MMonk, that would be easier and cheaper (??) than redoing the install. Just a thought!!

Just thinking that maybe the 16" tire package may interfere more than my 15" do. If so, just use a 90 degree fitting on the end of the pipe or hose!!!

90 degree fitting? I’ll need to look into that. Right now I use a flexible hose but the tires interfere, so I use a bottle jack to elevate just a tad.

Here's one style that works well. Pushes on the end of hose or pipe fitting and semi-locks with the sliding collar. There are also slide on 90's that replace the hose/pipe fitting, but have lower customer ratings.

So, MM, have you left the NW yet?? Stop by Kennewick if you are near!!!

Getting ready to cover up for the winter...made this today to protect the antenna wings from the weight of the cover. Added the insulation to prevent the PVC from indenting the roof.
