Photos for batteries

Hi Dutchrv, here are a couple of photos of the batteries in the under-the-bed storage area. I created a segregated area for them with some pine boards and pocket screws. They are connected in parallel and the power cables go thru the back of the storage area into the garage area's back wall. These are 2/0 gauge cables. Most of the electrical (switches, + and - bus, victron shunt, inverter, circuit breakers, and fuses are in the garage's back wall as well.

I was able to get the basic installation of my ARP Fridge Defender done today. It took a bit of prep work and a couple emails back and forth with support to make sure I understood how to account for the Norcold Cold Weather kit as it can't be controlled by the ARP device. I ended up having to relocate the 12v power for the cold weather kit from the aux lines coming from the fridge controller and splice them in to the 12v supply prior to the fridge controller.

I also had to loosen the fridge up and slide it out about a quarter of the way in order to have enough room to reach up and install the temperature sensor on the boiler tube. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to finish off mounting the fans and their temperature sensor.

You can see the ARP controller near the inside top of the loop of the copper propane supply line. Just under the right hand corner of the controller is the 5amp breaker that was added on the 12v line from the battery to protect the controller. The thermal sensor to the left of the breaker is for the Norcold Cold Weather kit.

Added a wire strap to keep the fridge side vent from hanging off the wires connected to the fan when it's removed. This allows for disconnecting the fan without stressing the wires if I need to completely remove the vent. The strap loops over a hook on the top inside wall.

The fan is controlled by the ARP Fridge Defend device and uses a temperature sensor clamped to a absorber coil to determine when to kick on and off.

I've posted these pictures in the thread "Anyone use a HitchGrip?" but they fit here, to. I'm up for shoulder surgery and won't be able to put the hitch on the truck easily until mid-summer, so I made this dolly for it, which my DW can use. Then, at camp, I want to take the hitch off to allow access to the bed of the truck (where the genny lives) and needed to figure where to put the hitch. The HG worked great for removing the hitch, and I found a spot for a Hitchport bracket to park the hitch and allow me to use the receiver lock to secure it. A piece of unistrut between the battery support made it possible.

With some sun out this morning I got the Victron BMV-712 Battery Monitor installed. That was the last piece of this round of electrical upgrades. Now I can focus on getting the mechanical check-ups done and ready for the first trip of the season later this month,.

one of my neighbors checking things out

One of the locals. I think he came for the willow branches, not to admire my work.

I wired in a cut-off switch for the 12v Furrion entertainment unit so I can completely deenergize it and eliminate it's phantom draw on the 12v system. Now that I have the Victron BMV-712 in place I can see what my real "resting" draw is - 0.2A. Since the trailer is stored along the same side of the house as my computer workstation I can actually hook up to the BMV-712 from my Mac when parked for a nice, big screen display:
