Little door thing in fridge compartment

Does anyone know what the little door thing in the right hand side of the photo is for, and if it's placed correctly? It seems that it should be open or closed, but not partway.

Thanks...

It's position controls the amount of secondary air available to the burner for complete combustion. Don't open it up unless you'll be staying at extreme altitude.

That is the flame viewing port on the dust cover. The manual says to open the door to view, then close the door.

If its not closed the wind or driving will easily blow out the flame.

Ah, the ‘ol “Check the owners manual”. Well played and well taken! I will admit I still need to get off my lazy butt and read all the manuals. This will incentivize me to do so!

Thanks for the information. It was very much appreciated!

It is nothing more than a flame viewing port. It should be closed for normal use.

I don't read them either, but just like to do some homework before posting a comment.
