We just bought a orv 28dbs.When we got to our
Next location i noticed one of the valances was
Loose in one corner. Upon closer inspection
The screws appear to have just pulled out of the
Wall..Apparently they missed a stud at the factory.
Any tricks to finding an aluminum stud without
Doing the hit or miss trick??

Just thinking out loud on ideas, not experience. If they are thin steel and not truly aluminum (non-magnetic) you could try a strong magnet. Another possibility is to start at a corner (where corner studs are) and measure out 12 or 16 inches (guess on spacing for RV build). Good luck.

ORV doesn't do traditional 16"OC spacing. They only use studs where needed like 99% of all TT's and 5ers. On a cool morning you can look at the sidewall and see the stud placement. I have gaps of several feet or more in areas.
They're 100% aluminum studs.

Bend a piece of coat hanger and fish it thru the existing hole and measure to the stud. I'll bet it is pretty close to the hole

Get a $20 electronic stud finder from your local hardware store.

Contact ORV and have them send you schematic drawings of their framing.

If it is a new unit they may point him to a service center to have it repaired on their dime.

I agree with RealNiceTent. If it isn't too much hassle, have the dealer fix it.

We had the valence and window covering fall off the wall completely. This is my thread about that:

I followed others advice and used a neodymium magnet to find the anchor point and moved the valance there. Moderate pain, but better for me than a round trip to the dealer and by then the trailer was out of warranty.

If you do not have it fixed by the dealer, get some of the plastic wall anchors and insert in the hole and then reset the screw.

With a foam sandwiched wall the stud could be 1/2" away but you would be hard pressed to get a wire to push through the foam that far.
You can see the studs on a cold morning on the exterior.
