MORryde StepAbove RV Steps with Strut Assist
Can any owners of these steps please share their comments and opinions about them?
My wife wants an easier access to our trailer, and I like the design of them. Price, not so much.

Thanks.

I think that most folks with those steps like them. The three main issues I see posted are:
1. Difficult to stabilize properly on uneven ground.
2. Dirt falls into the trailer when steps are folded in.
3. May lack clearance to extend steps when parked close to something, like at a storage facility.

I don't have those exact steps but do have solid steps.
The power assist would great. They're not heavy per say but they aren't feather light.
As far as dirt inside goes. Thats a not issue for us. We always sweep the steps when needed. We sweep our patio mat when leaving and the steps get swept at the same time.
If you have two doors on you RV then the solid steps are a non issue if you're in a tight spot. We always use the front flip out steps when at rest areas or when just stopped for a quick stop.
Never had an issue on uneven ground. Only issue was when the ground is slopped away from the RV. Then I may have to stick something under the supports. It really depends on the steps and the RV in those instances. Had ours for 3 seasons and only needed extra support once and we boondock 50% of the time.
Those are spendy. Think I paid around $250-300? Only have the 3 steps.

I don't have solid style steps at either door. What ORV uses is so much better than the previous trailer we are satisfied with those. However, my wife is starting to have hip and knee issues, and I am wondering if better steps would help her? Which brand does ORV use from the factory?
We boondock more than not, so I am wondering if one brand has advantages over another?

I have a set of Morryde steps (4 step unit) posted for sale in the classifieds currently. We replaced the OEM Morryde steps with Lippert Step Above for a couple of reasons…the first step out of the RV is wider on the Lippert than the Morryde first step. DW loves it and so do I. It feels very safe to step out onto. Second - the Lippert unit has a removable handrail - easily removable. The Lippert has assist lift pistons like the Morryde. We initially bought the accessory Morryde handrail that bolted onto the stringer (a more permanent attachment not easily removed) but it would hit our coffee bar cabinet just across from the door - so we returned it. The Morryde assist is effortless and smooth up and down. The Lippert is also easy - it lifts up to a point about 60* then you push it on in and lock it in place. The Morryde does not need to lock across the door frame because the pistons hold it in place.
Both steps are nice. I would encourage you to try to find an RV at a dealer that has the Lippert steps and try it out to see if the wider top step makes a difference.
I suppose my Morryde unit will go to the recycler if I can’t sell it. I need to get it out of my garage.

I'm seriously thinking of upgrading to the solid steps on my 25RDS and my thoughts mirror yours. I kinda laugh on the "dirt in the trailer issue".....I mean, sweep them before packing up? ....I had the opposite issue with my factory flip steps; I got to my campsite and the roads were muddy and I had to spend 15 minutes with a bucket of water cleaning the steps before we could use them.

Exactly.
Two reasons we got ours is 1st they constantly squeaked. I tried different lubes and what not but the squeak always came back. 2nd my wifes sleeps in a little longer than I do and I like to get outside in the mornings. Trying to be quiet and walk softly on those steps was not going to happen. I'm in and out a few times before she gets up so the solid steps really help quiet things down .
I wish they had the assist when we got ours.
