ORV Interiors

Will ORV ever offer more modern interior designs? I love the build quality and features of ORV, but brown on brown on brown interiors make them a non-starter for my wife.

For some reason that seems to be the color scheme that manufacturers like. There are very few lighter designs. I am making my own right now.

* I've pulled up the carpet to put down a hard surface

* I am painting my cabinets (inside and out)

* I am painting my walls

* I have pulled the ridiculous, tiny, wire slide out of the pantry. I painted the inside white and am making full extension pull out drawers and installing pantry lights that come on when you open the door. I can not believe how much easier it is to see in there, just painting it white.

I've done more but they would not be something that you would do on a newer model RV.

As for resale value: In my area remodeled RV's are snapped up. They do not for sale very long.

It's a common complaint but there is no rumor of any different color scheme coming that I'm aware of. My wife also wasn't a fan but the functionality of the superior ORV design and construction won out over interior color. Many have painted, etc. but that isn't something I was interested in doing to our brand new $75,000 trailer.

Today's RV interiors are a big improvement over those of a few years ago that were often compared to a French boudoir in a house of ill-reput. But I certainly cannot vouch for that claim!

Awful interior colors, it's the only thing holding up a purchase as my wife likes the Lance modern interior. She knows the ORV quality is better but oh the brown...

If you own it, do what you want! However I suggest that customizing an RV will likely effect resale value in not a positive way, be cautious. We use our trailer mostly as a sleep/eat cabin, not to stay inside of for long periods. But different strokes...Cheers!...

I have not found that to be the case. The RV's that have been updated with a lighter color scheme sell within a few minutes or hours. A great many people prefer that over the traditional dark brown.

I have friends who have made a business out of doing just that. Their 'remodels' go within minutes of their posting them and they have raised the price of them as well over what an untouched RV goes for.

Most DIY jobs aren't great......I wouldn't personally buy a new or near new trailer than someone has painted inside, especially the wood cabinets.....I doubt I'm alone.

OTOH if you are talking about an older trailer, updates are usually a positive.

I've always valued function over form so the better features and quality of the ORV made my decision clear......and luckily, my wife recognized the logic.

That said, Lance's are nice units too.

We’re thinking about selling our 25rds and buying a new 22fqs, but the black shades are ugly. Why they picked black is beyond me! It doesn’t go with brown. If we purchase a new one, I’ll replace them.

We live full time in our 2022 28bks. About 7 months/year is in the Arizona dessert. So their is no shortage of dust, grit and dirt, especially since we have two small dogs.

When we were shopping for a new floor plan. We intentionally looked at some campers which had been painted white and used at least a few years. I won that debate. In the end, it's to each there own.
