This is interesting and other Travel Trailer manufacturers should take note.

So far, we have 15 single AC units (not surprising), but we have fourteen 50 amp trailers vs eleven 30 amp trailers. If most people prefer 50 amp, why bother making a 30 amp version. Just make all 50 amp versions and provide an adapter for 30 amp.

I ordered our 26KVS with the 15K A/C upgrade. For the next 2-3 years we'll be largely constrained to mid-summer trips so I figured, for another $325, we might appreciate a slightly larger unit.

My motorhome has 50 amp and 2 A/C units. I can run both A/C units and the fridge on a 30 amp plug. I have no power management or soft starts on my units. In my area, 50 amp is rare and I have never been plugged into a 50 amp circuit. At home I have a 30amp 120/240 volt receptacle that I plug into.

30 amp, 1 AC, MicroAire soft start so we can run the AC off our 2000w Honda Generator. Rarely use the AC off the generator, but did use it off a 15A circuit at family in Vegas when we were parked at their house in 100+ heat. Carefully watched our power, but having the soft start definitely helped when running AC off such a small circuit.

Did your dealer do this or did they do it at the factory?
