Remembrance/Veterans day

11 November is a Remberance Day in Canada. It is a very special time when all Canadians honour the sacrifices of the people who fought in all wars to keep us free and safe.

To our American neighbours who also served and gave the ultimate sacrifice..thank you for your service.

Lest we forget

It is my honor to be on the Memorial Rifle Squad at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Our Tuesday squad remembers our veterans every time we fire three voles and play Taps for the families of our fallen Vets. Remember these men and women that preserve our freedom. Navy Viet Nam Vet.

We recently buried a cousin at Fort Snelling and your group is impressive. Thank you. I am a member of the Lakeville, Mn. VFW Rifle Squad and am proud to be part of a group that honors our fallen.

I come from a large family and have seen many military funerals.

I am very thankful that we have such a strong relationship with Canada. I will have a time on the 11'th to remember them.
Carrie Underwood gave a very moving performance of "Softly and Tenderly" last night on the CMA awards. It's on line and very moving for all our losses.
Thank you Lloyd.

Lac, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful post!

I have enjoyed many good campfires with my neighbors from the north and sincerely hope to have many more.

I hope we can celebrate this Veterans Day peacefully and take time to remember those who defend our freedom, past, present, and future!!!

Greatful Blessings on all who have served!!!

IN FLANDERS FIELDS POEM
The World’s Most Famous WAR MEMORIAL POEM
By Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead: Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!

Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields

Composed at the battlefront on May 3, 1915*
during the second battle of Ypres, Belgium
