Screws? Anyone recognize?

Hi everyone. Have two of these screws on the front lower portion of my 250RLSW front cap. You can only see one of them in the pic. They seem to be partially screwed in with a thick rubber washer. It always seems like they are falling out. I tried to screw them in more but they don't seem to be grabbing on to anything!? Bugs me when I don't know the purpose of something. Thanks for any info!

Can't really see it in pic...if you had not circled the area wouldn't even know it was there

Being on the lower edge of that panel and using rubber washer I would suspect that they are there to secure the lower lip of that panel so it doesn't flap

Probably 'stripped'....next size screw/rubber washer and a dap of caulking in the hole before installing new sr=crews

Just looked at mine. Mine are tight and the rubber is squished down. I reached under and they are right inline with the floor. I believe they go into the front of the floor to add an extra attachment point for the cap. The cap is fastened at the sides and top only. Probably added those two to make it a little more rigid.
Just a guess though.

Do they look like this?

If they do, they're just like these, and you can find them in longer lengths if you've stripped out the hole:

https://www.amazon.com/Self-Drilling...00MS5XMU&psc=1

(ETA: I need to add: I hate self-drilling screws when going through a hard layer into a softer substrate like wood. They drill too loose a hole, and eventually work themselves free. If these are indeed the kind of screws you have, you'd be better off buying the same thing but in a longer sharp-point version - should be on the same Amazon page - and drilling a smaller pilot hole.)

Pull the screws and see if the shank is rusted. Hopefully they were just over tightened.

Exclamation

Mine are Phillips head screws, and very tight.

I have the same in our 2015 260RLS. Both mine were broke off which I noticed during the PDI so they replaced them. One never made it back home. I replaced it, and they were replaced again by ORV and now both are MIA. I crawled under and looked where they went. Both went into the frame. Didn’t appear to do much structurally and they certainly don’t hold the front cap on. I’ve finally given up trying to keep them. If you don’t like the holes a small black cap screw will cover them nicely.

Well, they didn't come off the roof. Note that they came off the front cap. Not a motor home.

These are the factory original screws that were on mine. Both were broken off at the start of the threads. They are very small diameter screws. As I said earlier they were replaced by dealer when I pointed them out at delivery and ORV replaced them as well when I was at the plant. Currently the holes are there sans screws.

John your picture is better than the one I took. Our screws look the same. Philips screw with a plasticky type washer. I'm sure mine are stripped. I did try and screw them in more but they just spin, usually meaning they're stripped. If I knew what they were screwed into then I would set 2 more myself. I'm guessing into the floor for some extra support of cap in that area. I will reach out to Todd soon for clarification. Thanks for all your suggestions and opinions.
