Securing television during travel
I recently replaced the Furrion with an LG. The Furrion had developed a bright line across the bottom, about an inch wide, and a couple of dark areas mid screen. The rubber strap that held it firm while driving had also slightly scarred the screen. I'd like to avoid that with this new TV. Has anyone come up with a better way? It would seem that anything across the screen would be constantly be rubbing.

You can get a locking tv swivel mount from MORryde. Just Google MORryde TV mount.

I'm confused...doesn't the TV have the traditional mounting using four large screws attached to a large mounting plate on the back? Are you also using that? Why not just use that? Modern TVs aren't very heavy.
Or does it flop around in spite of that mounting? Like on an articulated mounting arm?

I put a 6" piece of foam pipe insulation on each side of our TV and the bungee over them. Nothing touches the TV.
When we purchased our 28bks, we talked the dealer into keeping the TV, mattresses and couch. We got $1,450.00 for that crap.

I like this idea. Yeah, as a previous poster asked, I am using the supplied articulated arm, and it does "lock", but lots of wiggle.
Thanks for this tip, I will give it a try.
I'm also considering selling the rig, once I get relocated into a new home. As for coming up with a value on it, the advice from the dealership where I bought it was to ask the same that I paid for it, that it should still be worth that. Have folks found that to be true?

Since you bought in 2020 chances are you bought before the many price hikes. If so then yeah the sales person's probably pretty close.

I can't speak for ORV resale value, but we just sold our 2020 Lance 2285 for more than we paid for it brand new in January 2020. We're waiting on an ORV 25RDS in a month or so.

That works great? Thanks for the tip. There is easily a half inch between the rubber strap and the TV screen. If you patented these they could sell for $9.95, including shipping and you'd make it big. I paid about $3.50 for a six foot length.

I got rid of the "wiggle" in my locking TV mount by cutting short lengths of a swimming pool "noodle" and wedging them between the back of the TV and the wall. When I got the lengths correct, I attached the noodle sections to the wall and/or the TV with double stick tape.

I distrust the locking mechanism on the TV mount. I don't know if it wasn't completely locked, but my TV moved away from the wall on out first trip. I didn't check before I moved the slide out, and popped the trim off the slide. Really lucky it didn't do more damage. The bungee is a good backup. I'll get the pool noodle padding.

My mount has about a half inch stubby rod that spring loads into a hole. I found that there's a ring that can be adjusted to lengthen the thing. It's kind of difficult to push the TV back and apply enough pressure to engage that rod while not pressing on the TV screen. If you have three arms, or a second person, one can keep the rod down until the TV is in place. Once its latched I never use the angling of the TV, just leave it facing straight out.

I expected some inquires, stretched, and warmed up to start answering the phone and emails, but nada. Well, not quite, but nothing serious. I've touched up all the ads, added more pictures, lowered the asking price several times, added things to go with it, even the B&W Patriot hitch.
I'm going to leave here in the very near future, and looking at where I can stay while house hunting and all sites are full along the Oregon coast.
So, either it's too early in the season, which doesn't explain the campgrounds being booked up, or just no demand.
One thing I discovered, paying $189 for an ad in RVTrader got the least amount of inquires, literally one, the first day, asking if I still had it, then crickets. Craigslist here around Missoula got a few inquires, and I placed another in the Seattle area, nothing. I figured that Seattle would be seen by a lot more people, and I could even possibly deliver it, since I'm heading that direction.
I'm baffled.

I have heard Facebook Marketplace is better, but I don't know the truth to that. Did you advertise there?

This post has gone sideways but since we're already there I'll comment. It took 6-8 weeks on RVTrader before we got the lead to sell the trailer (Lance 2285). During those weeks we got several serious leads, but no action. In our case, the good news is Lance is well known nationwide. Even though both are west coast companies, ORV is not well known in the East.
