This Is Why We Bought an Outdoors
36 miles of washboarded dirt road. 40 miles back out. But it doesn't get better than this.

Nice spot. When we have to travel miles of dirt (dust) I open the forward fantastic fan blowing into the trailer. That seems to pressurize the camper just a bit and I think it helps keep dust infiltration down.

I agree, that front fan is a good idea. I pulled mine down a badly washboarded BLM road just north of Laughlin NV out to Lake Mojave and didn't have a problem, but that was only 4 miles each way.

It is on the Lander Cutoff, part of the old Oregon Trail, up in Wyoming. Pretty awe inspiring looking at that country and thinking of the thousands of people traveling by wagon train in search of a better life. So many died in the attempt.

Thanks. Places like that are why I have solar and an 80 gallon freshwater tank.

bet there were fish in that stream. WY has lots of places like that. There is one near Ten Sleep we used to use all the time when we lived in MT.

Great photos... thanks for posting!
We just watched a YouTube video (SUV RVing) that included a short segment about the Lander Cutoff in the Wyoming Range. Fascinating stuff and, of course, spectacular scenery.
I'm heading out to Elko County, NV next month in pursuit of trout and emigrant trails. I won't be as adventurous as you by towing my rig 40 miles out, though; I'm going to be a wimp and stay with a Boondockers Welcome host.

Go out to the Ruby Marshes, take the road in from Halleck and its a good road to tow your trailer on, Harrison Pass is to much washboard.

precisely why I have an Outdoors rv with a bunch of solar and four 6 volt batteries. Boondocking in the wilderness without the crowds is fabulous.
