Also, if the ride quality of a 1 ton scares you I wouldn’t worry. I was initially concerned as well and my F350 (even with snow plow package) is hardly any different than my 2019 F150.

Alright you guys, you convinced me.....I'm back to a Ram truck and will look at the 3500 since there doesn't seem to be much advantage to the 2500.

I'm sure I will enjoy being overpowered for our trailer and it gives us capacity to upgrade down the road. I will suffer through the gas mileage, though it's good to hear that some of the folks on here are getting a little better mileage than I see advertised.

I really can't thank you enough for taking the time to post and share. I feel much more confident in my decision and am looking forward to getting out in 2022 with the family in our travel trailer!

Camped next to a couple with a 2019 25(not sure which model) and he was towing with an F150 3.5. I feel like I"m pushing the limit of our 150 towing our 21 RBS!

I saw a guy on i80 towing a fullsize backhoe
With an f150. He was squatted pretty good doing
50mph in a 70mph zone.
So people do some strange things..

you are IMO; I wouldn't consider towing anything bigger than my 21RBS with a half ton and even then it's far from ideal.

2 cents,

Dave

devil is always in the details and it comes down to payload. But, i suspect you are totally fine towing that 21 RBS with your 150. Is there an easier tow? There always is...right along with fifty people on the forum ready to tell you so.

If your payload is good, than you're good. That's all that matters. The F-150 3.5 is a fine tow rig, especially with Max tow. you're not going to be towing a 28 bks with one, but for your, use it's great. If she sags a little, just get some airbags.

Pulling my 22FQS uphill isn’t the only reason I like my 3500…

We had to go down a 20% grade gravel logging road to get to a camp spot a few weeks ago on Vancouver Island. The F350 kept our fully loaded 25RTS under total control while crawling down that hill. Week and a half later we had to come back up the same sketchy gravel grade, and yeah, the F350 hauled up it with total confidence. I couldn't imagine not having a 1 ton at all. She just gets the job done, no matter what you throw at her, hardly ever breaking a sweat
